Hi Everyone.

Im fairly new to Forex, play for not longer than two months just now.

Can anyone explain to me, why on FXCM platform, on demo account and micro account difference between prices on the same pair is around 20 pips. Shouldnt they be exactly the same?

Thanks for explanation

I've never noticed this difference.

Have you check again in the 7 months since writing this post?

The actual difference depends on the broker, however, as an API trader I know for a fact that there are differences with every broker I have had interactions with. The first think I do is run a script that tests execution speed, slippage, spread statistics and spiking. There is usually a huge difference in demo mode in regards to everything except spread statistics.

It should be a mistake. Have been never noticing anything similar in my broker's platform.

The demo accounts are more or less much similar to the real trading accounts offered by the said broker, so through testing any demo account we can easily ascertained the actual trading conditions offered by those brokers. Once a broker demo account is test and we decide to choose them, always start with small just to check their further processes like withdrawal etc.

Certain retail brokers (from time to time) will switch on cheating plugins on servers for real accounts.
IG seems like a reputable company, but it is not.

This is one of the forex facts, Demo and Live are never the same, my advice to you is if you find a good strategy that you are willing to seriously test, then test it on live account with micro lots to minimize any potential losses, that what i always do. in 8 years of trading i have never used a demo account.

As far as I know, with most reputable brokers the Demo server is taking quotes directly from the live one, thus there should not be any quoting difference between both environments.

That said, micro vs standard/ECN has price differences due spread, so charts can end up somewhat differently.
there is always, always another trade!!

Hey mate,
That is way I chose an STP broker who offers only one type of account to all its clients., i.e. equal trading conditions for all. I see it as a fair deal.

The genuine contrast relies upon the broker, nonetheless, as a forex trader I know beyond all doubt that there are contrasts with each broker I have had collaborations with. The principal figure I do is run a content that tests execution speed, slippage, spread insights and spiking. There is normally a gigantic contrast in demo mode concerning everything with the exception of spread insights.
