I practise similar concepts as you.
Long time in market and learning from others has taught me the following:
1. Trend retracements/ranging
2. Trend following
Seems like no.2 is happening past 3 days with pairs such as GU. High getting higher. indicators overbought. divergence happening and failing etc.
Zooming into smaller TFs for entries in 1 or 2 can help to remove fake outs. I am not exactly great at this but this has help me a little to filter fake break entries.
Just sharing and hope to learn more from all of you here.

when traders talks about trend the context will be different, depending on their point of view
( M1 traders ) will conflict with ( M15 traders ) when they are considered against the trend and so on..
I use the Elliott Wave theory for my trading base to avoid that one, the questions is why EW? because price will reverse direction after the fifth is done, it's not just a theory it's a fact if the measurement is correct.
I'm not Elliottician wave counting as general, I'm Elliott Wave trader who will know if I engage trading in it
