Ok buddy,. I seldom spend time in the net coz need to go out regularly.

Analyse chart for two hours and then put up a trades , some with Limit Order with it.

Put up SL and TP/TP1/TP2, then off I go.

Liquidity Grab & Stop Hunting


To many of us Liquidity Grab is signified by those times when we’ve placed an order and price immediately turns the wrong way, takes out our stop and then moves swiftly in the direction we had wanted it to – but with us on the sidelines.

It’s simply that there are certain areas on a chart that seem to be ideal places to put your stops.
If they seem ideal to you, you can bet your last dollar they will also seem ideal to thousands of other small retail traders so, over time, a large number of orders will build up to a point where large traders have an easy target to aim for liquidity when looking to get in at a better price.

Those of you trading short-term charts with stops in the 10 – 20 pip range close to current price action.
Unless you have taken a really good look at your chart and picked an area that has been tested before (and failed to break through) then you are at risk of liquidity grab or stop hunting.

Traders looking to place large orders can use part of their fund to edge price towards a certain point knowing that retail traders will continue the push for them as excitement takes over and the herd try to jump on the bandwagon.

If small traders feel that their trades are in jeopardy they may close early, allowing the bigger boys to snap up those offers and still sit back as prices moves inexorably down to the mass of stops sitting just above or below an apparent S/R area.
You will often see the final spike down as these players make the final thrust and pick up all those orders waiting for them.

So, how can you deal with it?
It’s part of the mechanics of the market and a price you must pay for trading short-term charts.
Even someone like me, who trades based on the Daily/Weekly charts, has to remember that 100 – 150 pip stops can be at risk at certain times.

If an Interest Rate statement is coming out on one of the three major currencies then anything can, and often does, happen. Watch up for High Impact News ( one for today and another tomorrow).

TRADE LONG TERM CHART

There’s nothing inherently wrong in trading short time frames – anything less than 1 hour requires skills that many newbies lack, especially in the areas of Money Management and the Psychology of trading.

If you don’t know how to control your risk, coupled with the tendency to panic as soon as trade goes 20 or 30-pips into the red, what hope have you got?

It took me quite a while to edge my way up to the Daily charts, and I still have a tendency to drop down to see what’s going on, but the difference is I don’t try and PLAY these short-term charts.

I simply use them as entry points and possible stop positions for running trades.

If you've read many books/thread posting and got nothing from them then possibly your missing something.
And you may be only an inch away.
Pick up your favorite few and reread them.
Now that you've spent some time trading you will probably absorb more from books and thread posting.
Now, don't get confused between Knowledge and Skill, they are not the same.

One little epiphany will lead to another.

If you are impatient and want to trade immediately and now,now, now,now !!! in the market that's fine.
But you'll still need to learn patience because the market doesn't always move immediately after hitting the zones you've marked.
And sometimes the ranges are pretty tight and even experienced range traders will sit on their hands.
If your going to trade that way you'll need to establish your own rules for range trading.
No matter what your style, patience will always be an element.

There are good books/thread out there and some that are not so good but all of them offer at least a few gems.
Keep going through them and the pieces will start coming together.
We've all been through it.

Forge your own system from your knowledge of the market and with what is agreeable to your personality.
There is enough info here on FF to get you started.
All the comments on this thread are meant to help you, not to criticize.

You're fortunate that all the responses in this thread have been sage advice--every one of them.
By all means journal all your trades, because someday not too far away you'll see the value of it.
And you'll be passing it on to someone else.
