hi guys, what do you think of the Lux Trading Firm? I like that they open an account with a broker, and do not represent their server. It looks pretty presentable. Is there anyone here who passed?

If they provided live accounts opened with American brokers at Interactivebrokers or TDameritrade, I would have no doubts. The company says they are on their way to the top of their investment. I think it would be more logical to cooperate with large and well-known brokers.

{quote} Hi Expo, I have got to weigh in here to put this in perspective for everyone. You are literally attempting the toughest challenge for the least reward in the entire industry. I know it's only $58 (at first) and I agree not everyone has the disposable income for the others. However, it truly is $348, as this is what you will pay them before you ever earn a dime. These models are all about profit target vs DD allowed ( for me anyway) as this is how I model my risk per trade. So earning 8% with 5% DD, if we plug that into an MFF eval with 12%...

I'm not looking at the PM account parameters. I'm looking at the mitigating risk angle.

The average requirement for a 2 step evaluation is to make 8% and then 5% in 90 days. And all you have to do is risk is about $450 upfront. We know that over 95% of traders can't accomplish this task so their $450 goes bye-bye. So why not risk $58 to try and earn 24% over the course of a full year? Then at least you know you have secured the PM account without risking the $450 first. Sure, You have to pay the $281, and the PM parameters arent the best but that's not the point.

Look at it this way. If the 5ers offered you an instantly funded 100K account for $281US with the same parameters as the 100K Boot Camp PM account you'd pay for it, right? I mean 281 bucks for 4K of drawdown is a good deal right? Do you really need 10K of drawdown to earn 3-5% a month?

As I said, I'm not focused on the drawdown parameters or the 50/50 split, or the leverage.

Fagin stated why try to earn 24% in a full year? All that stress, etc etc. As I said, imagine you live in a country where the average monthly income is $1000 or less. Imagine the stress that person would be under risking $450 upfront trying to make 8% then 5% for the standard 2-step evaluation? So 95% of the time that person will lose their $450. For that person, it's not about having a PM with a bigger allowable drawdown or a better profit split, it's about a low-risk way of securing 4K in drawdown and a chance to earn some real income. I mean if you need more than 4K in drawdown to make a few percent each month then it's not likely you can pass any evaluations regardless of the parameters.

Off to hike the canyons. If I don't make it back I leave all my credit card debt to Jiggling Jessica.

Phase 1: You are provided with a 25K demo account. You must earn 8% (i.e increase the account to 27K) with an allowable drawdown of 5%. Max stop loss for any position is 1%, trading leverage of 1:10. Once you reach your 8% profit target you have successfully completed phase 1 and move to phase 2. Phase 2: EXACTLY the same as phase 1. The only difference is they start you at 50K. Still, it's the same game. You must increase the 50K by 8% (i.e. increase the account to 54K). If you do then you have passed phase 2 and go to phase 3 Phase 3: EXACTLY...

-Thanks for the clarification.

I get it. Some people have different circumstances.

However, I wasn't aware of the additional €250 payment before receiving your account. I think, if you can flip an account that many times without going bust, then you could take that €300 and just throw it into a personal account and you could easily have the necessary funds and just go with a better offering (multiple times).

Check it:

Start with $1,250 account (5% draw-down on 25K account). Must earn 8% of 25K, which is 2K profit, so a 160% increase on the account, bringing the total balance to $3,250.

Rinse and repeat two more times.

Had you taken that €300 and did the same thing in a personal account:

'phase 1' - €300 + 160% (€480) = €780
'phase 2' - €780 + 160% (€1,248) = €2,028
'phase 3' - €2,028 + 160% (€3244.8) = €5,272.8

That is more than 4% draw-down on a 100K account.

Even if you take the €50 and trade it the same way, you would still have enough for a traditional program. Or, you could trade one or two phases of the €300 and have enough that way.

Yes, I haven't even looked at the PM at all, just the 3 stages to get there. % risk per trade MUST be based on allowable loss, so to make 8% with 5% DD, is equivalent to making 19.2% with 12% DD (MFF). It is a factor of 1.6:1.
So, I am simply stating, with all things being equal , R;R per trade, winning %,etc, by the time you make 8% with 5% loss 3x over, you will have made 57.6% with MFF or in other words, by the time you complete just phase 1 with 5%ers, you have made 19.2%, enough to pass stage 1(8%) and 2(5%) of the eval and get a split on the the remaining 6.2%, then while you are completing stage 2 and 3 with the 5%ers, you are getting paid on 19.2% TWICE OVER with MFF.

29 day trade min, trailing drawdown, I almost passed last year, then had a bad streak and hit the trailing drawdown. The trailing drawdown puts psychological pressure on you at least for me. I will only do challenges that have absolute drawdown from the initial account balance.

MoxFulder - thanks for taking the time to review. Trailing drawdown does not scare me.

I am more afraid of the little-known of this company. They are not very popular on the FF forum. But they promise a lot of interesting things. Good luck and have a good Xmas

I like them. Decent broker, yes... but peerless 24/7 online support, and great scaling plan. Haven't passed, but about 80% there after 6 weeks. My bots work about the same or a bit better than they do on FTMO. They don't offer Bitcoin as an instrument, though.
