Time will tell. That all depends on your lot size, and how long your strategy will continue to work for you. If you are trading less than 0.05 lots, then it's not likely you will have a problem. Of course, that would also depend on your account size, which I am assuming is at least 5k.

I am not wrong. You are not understanding my argument.

It has nothing to do with being successful with a win rate of 30%. Of course it's possible to do that with good risk-management.

What I am talking about is having an actual edge in the market. There is a difference.

The rules I have laid down for this are logical. Above 50% win rate out of 100 trades, coupled with being consistently profitable. Scalping doesn't apply.

Please think this through more carefully before being quick to say it is wrong.

Your edge is your skill and understanding of the market. Yes, if you don't know how... then you are correct, you need 50% win rate.

Most people build EA's around strategies they construct. I did the opposite, I let the EA parameters build a strategy and I was absolutely shocked at the results. Until then, I thought it was not possible to get any winning strategy with less than a 30% win rate.

To clarify, when I am speaking of having an edge, it is within the context of following a particular strategy. Therefore, it must be a win rate above 50% to prove it's not mere luck.

Indeed, if you have good risk-management, you can still come out ahead with a crappy strategy. But that's not the point.

What I would like to see is for someone on FF to prove he or she has an actual edge in the Forex market. I doubt anyone would accept the challenge.
