this is subjective - months to me is long term.

ugly pendent or falling wedge. either way 1.15967 held on the 1m chart, which should see us back to 1615 ish

Of course, but there's a general concept of this. It's not written and it's not a rule, but trading is either short term or medium term. Long term is considered as investment. Because trading can't be long term, it's called "trading" after all

Thanks! I have a short position at 1.161. I use a very basic Ichimoku strategy and the clouds ahead are deep bearish. It's obviously imprecise, but I'm just really hoping price holds on a downward direction...

Something like that. It depends how you see it.

Personally, I can split traders into categories: Scalpers (multiple trades a day, looking for a few pips on each entry), intraday (day traders, maybe one or two trades per day), then you have the traders, who look into daily and weekly charts, mostly consisting of swing traders, catching big swings and riding a pair's direction from the get go, and lastly, investors, who cannot bother with the day to day market noise and simply invest and stake the currencies for weeks and months, looking for hundreds and thousands of pips (normally, you have to have immense fundamental skills and knowledge to be this kind of guy).

To answer your question, traders are the medium term guys. They never look into anything less than 4 hours charts at the minimum. To further answer your question, medium term refers to weeks in my humble opinion. Hope that helps!

Whatever you see on forexfactory or any other form for that matter, except Mr Nordling, are scalpers and intraday traders. Nothing wrong with that, I just think fundamental knowledge is a must to succeed in this business. And trust me, I am speaking out of 9 years of experience.

I recently began reading up on macroeconomics. The psychological component on shorter timeframes is too emotionally taxing on my mind and I don't think I can last in this business if I stick to 'em. I'd like to shoot for just a few trades per week.

Yes you can trade it like bb but don't use bb. It will only create more confusion specially in high vola news release.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, psychology is so important in this business, reason why no trader can replicate another one, even if they use the same strategy.

Some like fast ins and outs, some can't handle the pressure and opt to go for longer term trades, get a setup, place ur pending orders, and close the computer on Monday. Check it back on Friday. You have to see what works for u, what u feel comfortable with. The less emotions u put in forex, the more chances u have to be successful.
