I agree with you. BigE'S Trading Made Simple is simple because it uses the TDI green and red line to complement basic Price Action analysis.

#647 are very simple Price Action analysis that looks at Price Behavior instead of some rigid patterns.
#2617 hints those PA is sufficient to plan a trade, with TDI as signal for 1) Save your screen time by no need to look at charts until the signal comes, and 2) Momentum kicks in as TDI cross/bounce stacks odds on your side as price has a clean move in trade direction as trades are open.

So I keep TDI green cross/bounce red as one primary confluence.

When wanting to enter a TDI trade... take a moment first to observe basic 4x things... like:

How close am I to the previous high or lo

Am I in an uptrend or downtrend.. short & long term...

Am I in or close to a consolidation area

Are the previous candles small...

Look at the candles on the last reversal... big, little, what

Some thoughts regarding your comments

That is exactly what BigE's TMS is about - Catching the momentum. You should notice BigE mentioned one way of trading is to enter before candle close. Price Action analysis should be the one "preceding" TDI signals (You can come to a conclusion of trading bias only referring to price/candle before the TDI signal) and then TDI itself gives confluence confirm momentum shift.

BigE has mentioned here in this thread to enter trades before candle close as soon as seeing a TDI cross. It is down to your strategy development to how to make it happen. I do this and also at candle close (new candle open) depending on my availability.

and OSMA oscillator is good for this
OSMA of MACD uses moving averages that can reflect price exhaustion hence it is considered as a leading indicator by traders (2 lines of MACD are lagging though. read babypips.com). The drawback of applying it into BigE's Trading Made Simple is because TMS PA is leading, OSMA would overlap the role of chart PA. TDI is lagging but complement with TMS PA to complete the trading plans.

I.E. I try to find out what can happen next using this analysis where you can see at least the very next estimated take-profit levels. So, for the Stochastic nowadays: what we must always look for is K crossing the most important Fibo levels also, let apart K crossing D, and that's what I meant to say in a post earlier in this thread
This indicates you do not understand BigE's Trading Made Simple as a Price Action trading method with aid of TDI.
Like some other traders here, you focus too much on indicators and EAs. You can trade with them but when you attempt to apply them TMS you are doing Trading Made Complicated.

- when you see this PA don't waste your time look for 4hr trade

- its a H4 big candle and small candle, this has a name Master Candle MC[3] its one way to see narrow raneg consolidation

- go look at another pair

- the TDI already given you the early warning few candle back

You have made some very good points regarding BigE's Trading Made Simple.

It echoes with Kirinda's post here. TMS's Price Action is a price behavior approach IMO according to BigE's market analysis and elements in #647.
Although not much in detail, but a couple other members posting here in TMS threads are using similar approach, such as pips29 and Wags .
Theirs and BigE's PA approach is looking at price movements, deducing and interpreting price movement and market condition based on simple things like previous high/low (price levels) and rejections (reaction at those levels). For instance, if price breaks out previous high but rejected quickly, then the interpretation is price cannot to higher and would go lower. It is a fake out.
But on a chart this can be a pin bar, a doji, engulfing candle, etc depending on timing and time frame. Note BigE did not refer to candlestick patterns (well, once, when he said pin bar did not work well).

Big E posted that the TDI is the heart of the system because it is convenient and serves as a tiebreaker if you are not sure what PA is doing
I totally agree with you. BigE used the TDI green and red lines for momentum which is exactly what the two lines are doing.

TMS is a great system for beginners until they can trade a naked chart.
It is up to the traders to move on to a naked chart method. But you get the point - As you progress in trading BigE's Trading Made Simple, the direction is to simplify the rules and charts, substitute with the understanding of price behavior. (#2617)

i'am still learning trying to get a full grasp of Mr.BigE method

however i took a sell trade on usdjpy today right at london open.
althought it is not looking good so far, but did I do right to open that sell trade or not?

here is the picture, i open the sell trade right after the red heiken is close

your entry at TDI green cross red down is aligned with TMS rule.

Applying #647 Price Action.
UJ is retesting previous high of 110.830 level after a while. The short term trend is up so you are taking a countertrend trade.

Do you have a plan on trading reversals? I would trade trend trading with fewer confluence but rarely enter a countertrend at first retest s/r. First retest shows very little information of whether price would be rejected by the level, esp it hasn’t breach it yet.

1) You did not follow the OP Big E posts and did not use his chart template. There is no Stochastics on your UJ H4 chart. Follow Post#261.

2) Today is BoJ Kuroda key speech about Japan economy and monetary policy statement. UJ rallied last week in anticipation.

3) How long have you been trading spot forex? Do you understand this picture?

When I turn on my Daily and Weekly candles on my H4 chart, I see the big picture Price Action.

You make the same fundamental mistake all new traders to this thread made in the last 10 years years I have been here.

First, you have ignored Post#261.

And here is Post#647 complete :

Your safest trades will always be when green crosses red and you enter on candle 1 or 2... odds are in your favor. Why? Because I'm expecting 3-8 candles... which is average...

With bounce trades the odds are lower for your success... but it still works.

my mistake to go agains the trend >.< i didn't look at higher timeframe when i open the sell trade

@Emmanuel sorry i add it back the stocastic now, i remove it before because sometime the stocastic give me doubt

Removing indicators is the way to progress in Trading Made Simple.

Just like pips29 mentioned, use the information of the price chart, not indicators or EAs.

I also trade a lot countertrend, even in direction of main trend I trade reversals. Just as mentioned I am more aggressive when trading with main trend.

Post#1.... I also use a Stochastics (8,3,3) indicator. It is ONLY used to confirm direction. Nothing else
Post#121..... The TDI and Stochs are giving opposite signals
Post#261..... Stochs is nothing but confirmation. If Stochs & the TDI give different signals... lights flash off and on warning me to take a closer look before entering..
Post#647... Does Stoch's confirm the TDI signal

Are you sure? You are pointing to last Friday H4 candle. Your broker different server time and has a Sunday candle.
