Unless you mastered this method already... keep the questions or concerns coming. Post your Demo trades too.

Continue making Demo trades to build your confidence and study old charts where the TDI gives clean signals... it will pay you in spades... well, pips in our case...

You have not learned anything and have not mastered the TDI and Big E' 5-Method.

Try that again!

Post 124,411: UKSmurfy did some nice chart reading in his post:...
cautious of that sell signal
> as the price has been trading within the range of the first red bar for some time.
#647..... Are the previous candles small (That red bar is small)
>this as sideways movement
#647..... Am I in or close to a consolidation area
>that the candles prior are small
#647..... Are the previous candles small (a lot of them)
> see a convincing break of that range, it’s also the first red bar, i’d have waited for the next candle to close hoping to see confirmation of the move rather than jump in on that very small spike generating the signal.
#647..... How does the momentum look right now (12-2, 4-6)
> The stochastic made a large move for such a small movement in price .......I am right to be hesitant over that stochastic?
(This one will be his choice)
#1 ...... I also use a Stochastics (8,3,3) indicator. It is ONLY used to confirm direction.

Hi Tekkies,

Thanks for bringing up #647. It is pretty effective to just use previous high or lo to determine price levels to anticipate a TMS setup

Just use #647 Am I in an uptrend or downtrend.. short & long term... It is not difficult to see a nice downtrend was interrupted as higher lows and higher highs formed as possible pullback if not reverse.

price was in consolidation within a narrow range.
Am I in or close to a consolidation area, with

previous high was not retested yet, so the buy signal is valid but the expectation would be play safe with small TP.

I was in buy bias as price retested previous low and strong rejection last time.

was only looking for buy until price would retest previous high.

so got in at good price with low risk trade idea. Simple based on a couple Price Action elements as of BigE’s instruction

Buy, 8.27R

Basically you can't if you only rely on the TDI.
Regular market knowledge is required to avoid such circumstances.
Well the thing is, a person with regular and exceptional market knowledge would not need the TDI neither.

The H4 was still in a downtrend at that point, with no way to know that it would be turning up. The only way you could anticipate the price bottoming out, based on that TDI alone, is the yellow baseline. It had just come close to the 32-level, bouncing off from 34-sh, and turning upwards. Short sellers should be extremely cautious at that point, as if they were about to sell into support.

Speaking of understanding the market dynamics and having knowledge..
Don't even need to understand all of it nor all the instruments.
Just need to know couple of setups and couple of pairs, after trying for a year and half, clean chart and this mentality moved me up.
This is one of the regular setups I look during the NY session, Big Rush, Slow Down , First Correction and then look for more corrections or pressure to the opposite side.
Unlike most of the traders trying to join the wagon, I try to land rivalry trades
I know it sounds very risky but well, It has more win ratio for me than the ''joining the direction'' type of trades.
Maybe It's how I trained myself.
*This is 1 minute scalping trade action only for the NY and sometimes Asian Session*
Longer Time Frames, I don't use or recommend this strat, but probably someone is also making profits with it on the longer TF's.
My mentor always traded the 1 Minute chart, and It suits my mentality as well, so yeah.

Yes, I just stare and wait, but it's not as stressfull or fast as you think.
You let it build first and then enter anyways.

when doing trading system development,

To start with, I chose only the common indicators available in most trading platforms and in alphabetical order,

MACD
RSI
Stochastics

The TDI is a hybrid custom indicator so I would exclude it.

Using the MACD, RSI and Stochastics all three in one chart, it will be the COWABUNGA trading system approach.
You use 2 to 3 Moving Averages on the price chart to help with the Price Action and Market Type definition.

Go back to my post Sep 2015,

https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...55#post8474455

when I came onboard this Trading Made Simple journey, I decided to drop the MACD but I kept the RSI and follow John Hayden' RSi/MA which is what the TDI was created by Dean Malone.

Now, the question is:
Can you follow Big E developed approach in his old thread and blend his 5-Method and COWABUNGA and help you filter the find higher probability trades?

hi DaNang111

You do have a lot to read and catch with more than 10 years of history. Do not rush, take your time to read, study and learn from all of Big E posts in Forex Factory.

You started very late here and have missed most of those videos which Big E posted in his old thread. Most of the older videos have been removed by their owners hence there are gaps in the learning. You will still find some in other online sources like vimeo and other online trading forums.

Anyway, I am here to help you when you need help.

I read that you want to trade with broker using TradingView but you can also use a MT4 broker for its live data and make full use of all the MT4 resoucres available here. I trade with non-MT4 brokers and I have also MT4 brokers and I do most of my trade planning and trade signal with my MT4 servers.

Start be active and post MT4 charts and we can discuss any question you have here.

Trade Well.

Stay Safe 2 + 1 and
