The amount of ignorance on Covid-19 made my eyes and head ache.

As a 20 y.o young man (needed to say that coz i want to make sure you guys don't think i am 83) i know that lockdowns, vaccination rates and number of doses are important. Why? Because this virus keeps evolving into another variants. We all heard of Delta and Delta Plus variants right? So why do these variants happen? Because there are millions, billions of people that are not fully vaccinated yet. Virus finds bodies that can shelter them. While they are in our body they get enough time to evolve and spread again. Can we really vaccinate most the people in the world though? I mean i wish but it will take years tbh. So that's where lockdowns, masks etc. come in handy.

Don't think that you are vaccinated and safe. You are safe just for now. Two doses of Pfizer-Biontech vaccine was 95% effective against hospitalization. Now it's dropped to 88% with the Delta variant. So i took two doses of Biontech it's cool and all but virus will find other shelters until most of the people in the world are vaccinated properly. So it will evolve again and strike back with another variant and that 88% effectiveness will drop as well. This will keep going like that until we vaccinate most of the humankind on this planet. If this variant thing gets more serious in the following months or years we may even need to develop new vaccines. So the lockdowns, masks etc. are essential whether we like it or not.

BTW wow this has been a great public service announcement. Gotta share it in my thread to spread the useful info

I know. It's really hard to believe how ignorant many people are with re to this "pandemic". Did you know there are people who literally believe that over 600K people have died in the US from COVID over the past year? That's out of about 3M TOTAL deaths during the same time period. In other words, about 1 in every 5 deaths in the US over the past year+ were due to COVID! Wow! And over that same period, the number of deaths from the flu, pneumonia, and other such issues has plummeted to record lows. Weird huh? Somehow or other this crazy COVID has scared away most other causes of death. Hmm....

according to worldometers, in 2020, 370K ppl have died in the US from COVID. total COVID deaths 640K in the USA. did you know over 3 millions ppl died from cigarette smoking just this year alone? really weird

My wife and I (both in our 60s) had COVID back in May. Lasted for about a week, with a couple days feeling pretty miserable... pretty much exactly like an average case of the flu. Not even close to needed a doctor, let alone hospitalization. Among my "real-life" and online friends, many have had COVID at one point or another, and a grand total of ZERO have needed hospitalization. Many of them didn't even know they had it until their employer or whoever made them get the test.

you do know what in 99% of time later variants are more transmissible but way less deadly. this happens all the time. Delta is no different. this is virology 101.

apparently the mra discoverer doesn't believe it should but used on humans. wonder why?

Numbers of Covid in the USA are inflated. Numerous "official" organizations (WHO, CDC) have been caught lying and purposely giving false and misleading information.

The uptick of infected and surge of variants are happening with the vaccinated more so than the unvaccinated.

COVID-19 got more dangerous and deadly with these variants though. Death rate is increasing around the world. I am not the one claiming that, that's what all health authorities say.

I have friends, who lost relatives in the past year, not due to covid, but to either age or different illnesses and the people at the hospital asked them if they can put covid as the cause of death. When they were asked why, they simply said they can ask for more money from the government that way and it would help them. Thats how your official numbers are made. But you are still young...you don't know much about the world, so your naivity is understandable. And I am not a conspiracy theorist, I don't spend time on social media, just listening to people around me.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

That was an interesting memory and yes made suspicious i gotta give you that. Let's say you are right and i am wrong. Well, me using my mask and not going into the crowds won't hurt me or anyone. What bugs me is these lockdowns clearly damage the businesses, retails and overall economy but if COVID-19 wasn't that serious why would developed countries want to sabotage their own economy? Why would US, UK want that?

And the number of deaths or serious illness due to drug/alcohol addiction (and relapses), mental health issues, depression, domestic violence, etc has gone through the roof! Yet the COVID fanatics couldn't care less about that. Oh, and let's add cancer.... which was caught too late, when it could have easily been caught at an earlier stage had it not been for hospitals cancelling all non-COVID appointments. Oh, and how many little kids have had a delayed start to their education. Especially last year's Kindergarteners... now they're in 1st Grade, but most of them are barely at K-level thanks to the lockdown, mask-up!, "remote learning" crowd. And do not EVEN get me started on all the people who died in the hospital or nursing homes with NO FRIENDS OR RELATIVES ALLOWED TO BE WITH THEM! And how many people couldn't even have FUNERALS for their loved ones?! (Sorry, this really makes me very, very angry!!)

I never said it wasn't serious...just that many people try to use it to their advantage to make money off it(not just big pharma)...hospitals are no exception. Thats why all the official data has to be taken with a grain of salt.

There are going to be many long term problems...years...probably more. I have a doctor as a friend...last year I asked her what she would do if she had the power...she said she would let it be, many people would die, yes, as sad as it sounds, but it would be over in a couple of months. Now we will deal with it for much longer and the total amount of deaths and destroyed lives might be 10 times higher. If not more...

BUT the worst of all are the politicians who put restrictions on us, but do not follow them themselfs...they basically laugh in our faces, with their big parties, travelling, no masks, etc...life as usual for them.
