I quit real-money trading and regressed to demo today. Have only lost money since May when the 'buy everything' rally ended. Need to perform well on demo for at least 6 months before I go back in.

we are near the end of a swing, also end of week. Not really caring here for big moves as the bottom of the market could bounce hard.

Scalping or something? 10 pips is just nothing to me with the money I have

Heck, I probably shouldn't even be trading forex

you more or less have to go big or go home, and be deadly accurate within a few pips of error.
And you probably shouldn't be trading forex. So many lines on your chart in all the wrong places.
Yeah I know they're pivot points, but they're also useless sometimes-work-sometimes-don't nonsense.

That's what I've found with all indicators. I cannot find a strategy that works tolerably well at all

Before trading terminals and candlestick charts, floor traders could only see a big board with prices all over it.
Aside from bid/ask, there were additional prices listed on that big board - and that was all they needed to successfully trade the market.
Even today, what was on that board is the only indicator that actually matters.

I've often wondered how they do it, and I notice a lot of traders (with their eight monitors) spend most of their time looking at the column of flashing prices. I haven't a clue about any of that.

Maybe I'll stick to dollar-averaging in the S&P 500 and leave it at that

You need to understand what type of trader you are before committing to a specific strategy; scalper, day trader, swing trader, investor.

The lot size and account size will help you determine that, based on your emotional response when putting money on a trade.

When you determine which type of trader you are then you can either find a strategy for the type of trader you are initially or you can develop your own.

Everything work until it doesn't. You have to learn and feel the market of why it is moving. Its best to learn with cents (0.01) instead of demo money, so you can think and act like, real and know the difference.
Also remember to not follow blind advices you read on newspapers, like the buy in May thing, or if, then, just do a good study and elsewhere.
