I considered joining this thread, but there is so much conflict in here, I would rather move to another thread. I assume you're all adults who have one thing in common (at least) which is to contribute ideas and knowledge to become a better trader but it seems not to be.

The EURUSD market is still technically bullish, but the market operation is in a sideways mode. Meanwhile, on the daily timeframe, the technical impulse is bearish as a supply zone has been created around the 1.20940/1.21330 area (magenta) by the most recent bearish drive. However, a bullish pullback has kicked in. Although, presently, there is reduced directional momentum as price action has gone sideways in the last five days as it tackles a minor horizontal resistance around 1.19740, we may expect further bullish pullback in the early part of this week. Nevertheless, failure of price action to mitigate the 1.20940/1.21330 supply area (magenta) would incentivize bears to push for a southward continuation. In this situation, timing of market entry based on directional momentum is important. Technically, I am more bearish EURUSD than bullish, but, as a swing trader, I will await a momentum shift either mitigating supply/horizontal resistance northward or confirming a bearish turnaround.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

After KeenPips post I decided to stay longer, maybe more constructive comments will be coming up. I entered a short trade on Friday, have seen 10p at one stage and now wish for a further drop right from the start.
The 1.1925 was tested several times late Thursday but consequently defended it successfully; it touched this support level again very swiftly late Friday but pulled back before staging another attempt but ran out of time.

I really don’t mind you putting me on ignore. I know you still read my posts. In the end you will be the one losing because you have some of the best traders in this forum on your ignore list. Just how how “smart” is that?! I mean you are granted a free of charge access to professional sources of trading knowledge and you voluntarily choose to ignore it. Look at your ignore list man. You are constantly under confrontation with some of the best traders here. This tells a lot about you as a trader and as a person.

Ah there was a chance to roast noobs and losers but i am late to the party, dang!

About COT reports, yeah here2there said nothing wrong. I don't know what's the deal with you guys and the COT reports really. It is very simple:

First of all those are currency futures, not pairs.

Second, changes in positions and number of traders matter the most. Because some traders can have bigger capitals which can manipulate the total number of contracts and mislead.

So here2there said nothing wrong really. Just go and study BabyPips school instead of idle talking. Arguing on how to read COT reports is like arguing about if Earth is flat or round. That's just basic stuff and learn it before calling yourself a trader. If you don't know such basic stuff about trading then you are just a gambler. I am saying this to anyone that does not know how to read COT reports.

Remember, we can't know everything. We didn't know this stuff when we were new. That's not ignorance. The real ignorance is, not knowing what you don't know. And that's the situation here.

So instead of acting like brats, man up and don't attack to the people who are giving useful info. That would only cause your failure. Some guys here are so lucky that no matter how dumb & disrespectful they act, we still try to give them useful info. I guess we are naive though. Let the losers lose.

Don't even try to quote me and start a new fight, I am not going to argue with people who did not prove that they are winners anymore. If someone wants to argue with me, i gotta be sure that they are worthy of my time.

Edit: I forgot to say that COT report is just a useful tool that you can confirm your bias and to have an opinion the real professional sentiment of the market. That does not mean you should trade based on that.

Here is the truths:
Forex commitment of traders reports are based on the corresponding futures contracts traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Here is what you need to read and pay attention to the list of COT charts for pairs:

Yes COT is not easy to understand yet so many people try to use it finding a false feeling of being secure with COT.
There are plenty of good explanations and guidance about using COT yet so many people are coming with their own incorrect versions of that.

I don’t mind people confusing themselves, but do not mislead other people. Just hold on to the facts. That is the best way to keep yourself on the right side of the matter.

You answered yourself and proved my point. Read the part that i highlighted in your post. They are currency futures. That's also why USD/JPY is JPY/USD in COT reports. Look:

They are not futures. They are pairs COTs and they are BASED ON THE CORRESPONDING FUTURES CONTRACT exactly as I quoted from thr CFTC. But I have no problem to understand you because I have witnessed how demanding the fight against confirmation bias can be sometimes.

The Commitment of Traders (COT) report is a weekly publication that shows the aggregate holdings of different participants in the U.S. futures market. So you answered your own question. COT are futures market. Not spotfx. So we have established that. Second, I will attach EURJPY COT and chart. Now we have established that EURJPY overall is bullish. Macroeconomy points that way too. Now will the EURJPY shoot up right from this moment. Probably not, but looking at the chart, where I marked with white lines, it is possible that it will go down to that daily demand zone, and from there, there is a big possibility to go up. Which means I would be willing to take a buy from that demand zone and let this run. Or, perhaps, this will pull back down a bit, not even close to demand zone, and will go up. Which in that case, I will pay attention to this pair and will still buy in that case. Looking at 4 hour chart, looks like the price is in demand zone already on a 4 hour chart, and could go up from there soon. COT is just another tool to add to trading. A lot of people are making it to be this big complicated thing... it is not. You have to combine it with other tools. I combine macroeconomics fundamentals which is 80% of the forex market, adding other tools to that like COT, and the rest only 20% technical which I use supply/demand zones. I use it on 4 hour, daily, weekly and monthly. It takes time, but it is consistence and no pressure. I hope this clears it up for you in a simple way about a tool COT. Trade safe.

I did not ask any questions. I quoted an internet page showing and explaining COT for currency pairs. The same page contains a link to another page showing and explaining COT for futures. How difficult is this to read and understand?! You people are denying the obvious. I can see why the trading can be a real challenge for you.

I can only make a last attempt to repeat that there are COT for pairs based on corresponding future contracts (NOTE -CORRESPONDING FUTURE CONTRACTS) and there are COT for futures explained on a separate page in that same article provided you can read and understand what you read.

Stop stretching it. COT are futures market, that is why you have single currencies on COT reports, not one against another.

The Legacy reports are broken down by exchange. These reports have a futures only report and a combined futures and options report. Legacy reports break down the reportable open interest positions into two classifications: non-commercial and commercial traders.
The Supplemental report includes 13 select agricultural commodity contracts for combined futures and options positions. Supplemental reports break down the reportable open interest positions into three trader classifications: non-commercial, commercial, and index traders.
The Disaggregated reports are broken down by agriculture, petroleum and products, natural gas and products, electricity and metals and other physical contracts. These reports have a futures only report and a combined futures and options report. The Disaggregated reports break down the reportable open interest positions into four classifications:

Short and Long Format of Reports
The Legacy and Disaggregated reports are available in both a short and long format. The TFF report is only available in the long format. The Supplemental report is only available in the short format.
The short format shows reportable open interest and week-to-week open interest changes separately by reportable and non-reportable positions. For reportable positions, additional data is provided for commercial and non-commercial holdings, spreading (in certain categories only), changes from the previous report, percent of open interest by category, and numbers of traders.
The long report, in addition to the information in the short report, groups the data by crop year, where appropriate, and shows the concentration of positions held by the largest four and eight traders.
