Sorry Mistdraw. I tried to help you seeking a better setting for you.

You can read my previous post which I did some calculation based on the setting you shared.

Briefly, your current setting requires 17pips or less for SL in order to ensure >1 RR given the 3 TPs are hit.

if the SL is >17pips, then the final 5% “let winner run” can be challenging.

If SL = 30 pips, TP4 has to be at least 270 pips away
if SL = 40 pips, it is approx 455 pips.
otherwise your trade will be closed at <1RR even a “perfect win”

A newbie common mistake is cannot differentiate what is initial Stop Loss and what is 4R.

You are wrong AGAIN with your assumptions using SL > 17pips, SL=30pips TP = 270pips, ... all these are wrong. You do not have the SYSTEM THINKING!

You still not getting it. You have not learn how Big E trade with his $10k account, how he place his trade entry and where he would place his stop loss, how he exit when price pulls back on his entry, etc. etc. etc. lots of examples in all his 463 and 861 posts.

Now download that THV CaveManager EA and learn how to use that EA to manage your trade and see how it work in realtime market trading. But looking for a potential trade with 4R would be the challenge for most newbies like you with only 8 months trading experience with the TDI.

"let winners run" is another feature in THV CaveManager. I'll let you find this out on your own when you can find the next best setup on H4 chart timeframe.

You need to have that Systems Thinking what Dr.Van Tharp written in his books. Most newbies do not have that System Thinking. Newbies look for quick money, fast profits, get rich quick schemes, instant millionaire $500 to one million dollars, etc.

Post#53........ I hate S/l trading. The safest way is to place your S/L at the last high or low a couple of candles back... I've never had one taken out that way...

The few time BigE did post about S/L was to give guidance to those who prefer to trade with S/L. Post#4109 is one such post.

Why do you need a TP/SL, the exit rules will never allow a trade to get even close to a S/L.

Post#6.... Exit your trade when the green TDI line goes flat, starts to hook over or makes a check mark reversal.

I am afraid Emmanuel is not willing to help you further.
While he is unable to help, I have quickly made up a table for setting up parameters.

Based on the TP settings, this table calculates the required pips of the RUNNER to achieve 1:1 RR. I added a section of post-trade statistics where you can indicate if the TPs were hit and the pips gain by the RUNNER. This table then calculate the RR and also itemize the proportion of profit in the particular trade.

**All values in the colored boxes can be modified according to your particular settings.

This is just a simple illustration of the RR with partial close MM.

we all know by now that @Tekkies has poor reading comprehension skills.

he missed so many of Big E' other posts on "follow simple rules for entries and exits".

he already posted wrong information on TDI painting and re-painting (his post#73,461) , yet he refused to admit a common newbie mistake on what is TDI #25 re-painting.

hey TMS Folks,

very interesting spreadsheet study filled with assumptions which is the usual newbie mistake in paper trading.

lets all be patient and wait for @tommydogie to complete his 1,000 trades to prove his statistical theory of 0.5RR.
He already made a fatal mistake in his spreadsheet.

I am sure we are all very interested in the final results after the first 1,000 trades using THV CaveManager.

- how many pairs with TDI tweek, hook over, cross red, etc. potential when the current H4 closes ?

Does post#25 TDI repaint after bar close or only on chart refresh/MT4 restart.
> Never refresh or restart a chart, post#25 will be a non repainting indicator.
(Unless the broker update the data feed to replace missing ticks which will change some bars)

your questions have been answered over and over again many times during Big E time and also by Dean Malone in his trading room sessions.

Big E traded with the TDI original version named Traders_Dynamic_Index by Dean Malone 2006. That is the same version in Post#25.

You can see both 'painting' and 'repainting' in realtime market live data. You missed looking at the details. If you cannot see with both eyes, then try reading the Data Window.
