Hey Dave, I was going to reply to one of your posts about those of us who know a little bit of Excel being critical, but it looks like you pulled it, so I could not quote it. Excel skills mean nothing. If what you are doing is working for you, keep doing it. That is really all that matters. No one with a slice of coding skills that actually trades would be so asinine as to be critical of any attempt to get better.

It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work.

Thanks for the reply and encouragement
Yes I made a couple of basic mistakes with the first effort
Originally I used 0 as the center of the square, when it should have been 1
Then I used the decimal point instead of using the base number and then changing the cells afterwards
Like both you and Parisboy say, if you have ago yourself you see things, some ideas better, some worse and a waste of effort but at least you have satisfied your mind by trying

Hello Swede,am trying to understand this chart,you made it different than the rest,especially the Time zone ,yes i could copy it well,is it that you used previous low to high for the octave,what about the time cycle? i cant figure it out. Blessed weekend

Square of Nine does not work necause it is incorrectly used.

Let's me elaborate : it is exactly the same as for Elliott Waves or Cycles.

You HAVE TO compare Waves, Swings etc which are comparable hence of the same degree , order, nature

Same thing for the Square of Nine. The Square of Nine will give you its best results when you identify the degree of the Swing you are evaluating (the spiral progression of the numbers on the 90° / 270° / 0° / 180 ° axis.

You can also use the same principle as for "Murrey" Horizontal Lines or Jenkins "Secret" Angles.

Where to locate the Baseline ? What "offsetted" Angle to use for your Zero Axis ?

Hence you have identified both parameters your Swing Degree and your Base Axis you can efficiently use Square of Nine Methodology.

Then inferior or superior swings degree are just Harmonically related

Envelopes help greatly to rationalize "Waves count" hence to determine the degree , order , nature of each "wave / swing"

You do not need to be a Rocket Scientist to understand that the Yellow Upswing is not of the same nature as a Green Upswing

T3 = Top 3 = Price Action has broken on the Upside 3 successive adjacent Envelopes (32 (blue) , 128 (not shown on the Chart) and 256 (brown)

B3 =Bottom 3 = Price Action has broken on the Upside 3 successive adjacent Envelopes (32 (blue) , 128 (not shown on the Chart) and 256 (brown)

T1 = Top 1 = Price Action has broken on the Upside the Envelope (32 (blue)

B1 = Bottom 1 = Price Action has broken on the Downside the Envelope (32 (blue)

When price began to trade out of the trading grid, but not out of the high or low that created the grid, it was time to move the grid forward. The logical place to move it forward too was the last high.....the division of the first swing by 8 remains in place, the horizontal division of the range stays in place, just the box moved forward. Until the range is broken (which may very well be this week) there is little point in making further changes.

ps....see where this next candle closes.....trading above the range as I write this...lol could soon see 1.42000 imho
