Price has been going up for over 2 weeks though.

Just the last couple of days it has stalled and very lightly gone down. But not barely enough to say it is reversing, in my opinion.

As long as below 1.1975 target 1.1950 and 1.1935, 1.1850 for today is a lot.
Trends have a higher probability of continuing than not.

Uh huh....price came back and above my buy in that originally got my butt kicked....sigh! Don't know why I bother during the Asian...should just daytrade stocks/ASX during the day instead and Forex after 6pm. I am not entering EU again until I have a stronger bullish signal. Last thing I want is for it to tank again! I need some runs on the board! I am getting hungry over here!!

Anyways, Eurusd is retesting the very important level of 68, the bears are really holding on to their momentum and I wouldnt be surprised if they held to it till support around 1940-50s. But volatility has built up enough to perhaps break it once and for all and let the main direction take its course, up!

Only 3 of my longs survived the last fall, which is more than I had expected if 68 resisted, and it did so very much. I doubt they would survive another.

Soon we will also know if we are stuck in a new 10pips narrow range.

if bulls manages to break 1.19 i think bulls can go to 1.203 minimum since we already have correction phase.

EUR/USD resumes the upside and still targets 1.2000

  1. EUR/USD fades Thursday’s pullback and reclaims 1.1980.
  2. The dollar looks offered amidst steady yields on Friday.
  3. EMU’s final March CPI comes up next in the euro docket.

The single currency reverses the previous day’s pullback and regains the composure, lifting EUR/USD back to the 1.1980 region.
EUR/USD faces the next hurdle at 1.2000
EUR/USD’s rally remains well and sound and leaves behind Thursday’s downtick on the back of the offered bias surrounding the buck, which is in turn sponsored by declining yields in the US bond markets.
in fact, the risk-on sentiment prevails among investors, propelling stocks to fresh highs and sustaining the ongoing rebound in spot to the vicinity of the psychological barrier at 1.2000 the figure.
Also supporting the shared currency, market participants now shift their interest to the progress of the vaccine rollout in the Old Continent, adding to the positive growth prospects in the region in the second half of the year.
Data wise in Euroland, final March CPI figures in the broader euro area come up next ahead of the Eurogroup meeting. In the US calendar, housing data and the preliminary U-Mich index for the month of April are also due.
What to look for around EUR
EUR/USD keeps pushing higher and gradually approaches the psychological 1.2000 barrier in response to the increasing selling pressure in the dollar and fresh optimism on the economic rebound in the euro area now that the vaccine campaign appears to have gained some serious pace. Solid results from key fundamentals as of late also appear to bolster this shift in the investors’ view.
Key events in the euro area this week: Eurogroup meeting, EMU final CPI (Friday).
Eminent issues on the back boiler: Asymmetric economic recovery in the region. Sustainability of the pick-up in inflation figures. Progress of the vaccine rollout. Probable political effervescence around the EU Recovery Fund.
EUR/USD levels to watch
At the moment, the index is gaining 0.16% at 1.1983 and faces the next hurdle at 1.1993 (monthly high Apr.15) followed by 1.2000 (psychological level) and finally 1.2050 (100-day SMA). On the other hand, a breach of 1.1902 (200-day SMA) would target 1.1762 (78.6% Fibo of the November-January rally) en route to 1.1704 (2021 low Mar.31).

I stand corrected hence the spike, single price bar that erased all of yesterdays activity/price data. Could be a stop hunt or this can be a continuation to the upside. Still waiting for price to break below 19500 to go short all the way down to 18800.

What I learned about fundamentals is just there to mislead...so better off just to sit on the sideline before or after a major news.

Basically there are two opposing views which had a street fight over the last months. First view 1 was traded, became too crowded and was squeezed, then view 2 became popular and crowded and now view 2 is being squeezed.

View1: USD should decline because the dovish FED would let inflation rise without hiking rates, keeping real interest rates very low. Also the financing of the large twin deficit (current account and government debt) would require a lower USD, so that the required foreign investors buy into it.

View2: The USD should outperform because the US economy outperforms.

While view 2 was winning, we had a channel of: great US data --> higher yields --> higher USD. Now this channel is broken and view 2 gets squeezed. Key factor is, if the FED can deliver on their dovish promise or if they are forced to hike rates earlier if inflation were to overshoot massively.
