I'm also using Oanda with Tradingview, but I couldn't locate the TMS TDI indicator you're using. Is it in the public library?

Hi! 5889 is a lot of pages!...find it very interesting. Just one wee question, for TDI set up, 13, 34, 2 & 7 is the right set up for higher time frame? Couldn't open any attached files. Thanks

Hi Docbeeps,

The one showing on the chart is the one I coded by myself as to show crosses. The green and red line are exactly the same as typical TDI, i.e. RSI(13) MA 2 and 7.

There are a number of TDI indicators shared in the public library. I have used the "TDI - Traders Dynamic Index by TuanLouis" by user "Tuannoi". You can simply search it in the search field in the "Indicators and Strategies" window. It is a full TDI indicator but you can choose to only show the Fast and Slow MA.

Below is the screen shot. Hope it helps.

if one is to take one or two trades per day, where will it be?
obvious to me that it will be at higher bigger structure.
in this case, it was htf trend line and previous days highs lows.
the rest, the last portion, is to wait for tdi cross.

you may just only want to read the OP's 460 odd posts in this thread, or maybe someone had compiled a pdf, i don't know.
tdi set up same for all time frames. the OP later used only 13 and 7 (green and red), and emphasized on h4 trading.
i use rsi 13 and sma 7.
SR and TL were briefly mentioned and rarely used and not taken to the next level.
in fact in post 117,771, i want to emphasize them more.

It does! Thanks for the reply! Hoping to become consistent with this strategy. Off to a rough start so far.

If you don't have edge higher tf will not solve your problem.

From my little experience, TMS is more an add-on to you existing strategies and rules, in terms of price actions and structures.
TMS can confirm momentum shift if you have confluence in your bias. InTheBox has mentioned in #117,771, also by BigE - TDI cross/bounce is a trigger, but the decision is based on price action and other rules.

I really appreciate fellow FF members kindly sharing their entries based on TMS, really learned a lot about how they pick the specific TDI cross/bounce to enter, some use them as additional confirmation but not exactly entries. You can extract some ideas from them and see if applicable to you. You can share your entries and the pros here may be able to give you some suggestions.

In this modern age if you thing your momentum oscillator will make your profitable trader your Day dreaming. TMS don't work, No one will tell you this truth. TDI don't have edge. I see on your strategy tester that was the Donchian channel strategy, how does that relate to the TMS TDI?

But ultimately, if you don't believe in a strategy, it will never work for you. Simply because no time and effort would be devoted to develop and customize the strategy, or to follow and execute with discipline. If you think the TMS strategy does not work for you, there are many other strategies in FF forum and no need to whine here. It's only my 2nd month testing this strategy live, maybe I can share some result a few months later to see if it works or not for me. So far it works.

GU very trendy today difficult for TDI to generate signals as it is better in showing start of momentum from slow movements... After the TDI cross with regular divergence, followed by trendline break. Formation of Bull QM. Buy order at QM level. TP at HH. Anticipation at price structures are faster than TDI signals but TDI gives confluence.

Hi hasib

Based on your two screenshots you are testing a Donchian Channel strategy.
With the same entry and exit on two different timeframes you will get different results.
Repeat the same tests on other pairs and for a longer duration like 10 years historical data,
you will see the true results of that strategy.

I did that for Big E' 5-Method and I learn how effective the same entry and exit in different market types conditions would work out and implement a money management strategy to different market types.
