The COT report provides some useful information. But like many things in this space, I believe it isn't very helpful because it comes out three days late, and to make matters worse, on a Friday Lol. In short, the COT report, in my opinion, doesn't really give a trader an edge. And yes, it can trick you.

Now it is turning and going bearish. Stop guessing and look at the charts especially higher charts. Stop calling these imaginary numbers 1.2275-1.234 does not make sense. EURUSD turned bearish and does not look like it will get to 1.25. COT reports confirm it, with about -21,000 non-commercial took off their long positions. Looking at monthly supply zone has been reached, next demand zone is around 1.1719. That is where the price will go before anywhere else. The only one that is going to be tricked is yourself. Combining COT reports, supply/demand zone and in some cases fundamentals, one of the best combination ever.

USD remains weak. Therefore, EURUSD will likely continue to rise higher. How long will this last? I don't know. Time will tell.

It has reached supply zone on weekly and monthly, EUR went up due to covid19, and USD had their issues and USD was weak. Now with new president, new politics, in USA, things will start to get better. European Union have their own economic issues for years now and there is just no solution at the moment. Now with brexit issues too that adds on to it. COT reports show that more and more institution traders are taking profits at their long positions, and are adding more short positions.

Use a currency strength meter in combination with price action. It's a less complicated approach to trading and more reliable than the COT report.

Note: it is best to look for strength on the Daily if you use the 4 HR as your main time frame for trading. If your main time frame for trading is the Daily, then look for strength on the Weekly. If the 1 HR, then look for strength on the 4HR.

Do not trade blindly. Just because a currency is strong, it doesn't mean you should jump into a trade. Always wait for price action for clues on what to do. Then trade according to strength.
