Disliked{quote} @hasib -- you have so many ideas and are so passionate about trading that I know it must be frustrating not being able to test and experiment when something pops into your head. Just as you can assure us your strategy will be profitable, I can assure you that the most satisfying experience you will ever have with forex is when you are able to code aqnd implement your own ideas.Ignored

Disliked{quote} I first started with TradingView Pinescript. Its coding language is easier. Learn the logic of coding. Then I went to forums and start with some EAs that are simple and shared. And learn the grammar of MQL5, apply some logics used in TradingView. I started in Jun (you probably remember our first communication). Now TBH I am pretty weak at some functions like FOR loop, but I use reference numbers, nested IF, and built in indi functions of MQL5, I could code pretty much every strategies I can think of, the rules, gating for spread/slippage...Ignored
Disliked{quote} If the end game is to learn to program indicators and EAs for MT4, then I would not point someone at TradingView and Pinescript -- for the simple reason they are forced to learn a new platform (TradingView) at the same time they are learning to program (Pinescript). Yes -- Pinescript includes the usual programming constructs, but in the end it is useless for MT4. MQL4 is not difficult -- and what you learn is *immediately* applicable in a trading platform (MT4) that you are already familiar with. If the goal is to get from A-to-B then I...Ignored
Disliked{quote} @darlight20 -- that's great to hear. I've been developing software for > 30 years, so my path to learning MQL4 would be different than yours. However, there is something even better than learning from books -- online courses. I would recommend Udemy. I have zero affiliation. I've taken numerous classes and most have been great. And they do have a wide selection of introductory to intermediate classes on programming in MQL4. You'll never regret learning a programming language -- and learning to program in MQL4 opens lots of doors, especially...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hi @jmn5611 -- I'm not familair with thinkorswim. I just now browsed their web site. The two things I was looking for but couldn't find were: (1) where do they get their data, and (b) does it integrate with MT4 or do you have to use "their" platform -- whoever "their" is. Is it a TD Ameritrade tool? And, if so, nothing wrong with that. However, as a US client one is then bound by NFA and I've found my strategies often hit their head against that wall. @jmn5611 -- you know what FF is missing? A thread that discusses the pros / cons of NFA....Ignored

DislikedI believe Starting with the Main rules will give an edge. If you look for simplification Just follow 6 rules. You will see the edge in your EA. If wants to improve a little bit more you can add more things. Rules (strategy, entry, exit) Main rules: 1. EA opens a trade a. sell, if price touches upperBB //mean-reversal strategy b. buy, if price touches lowerBB 2. open at the same time a hedge trade (in opposite direction) 3. if trade goes in loss, TP of hedge trade is triggered 4. if trade goes further in loss, trade hits SL 5. but if trade goes back...Ignored

DislikedThis is a profitable trading strategy. I share it here People could make an EA with this. Those how can't code like me Can use this in their Manual trading. I expect some expert coder will code it and share it here so that other traders get the benefits from this free but Valuable system. If anyone could code it appropriately It should generate profit. Disliked{quote} You posted only the standard Mt4 TFs. There are many missing intermediate TFs, so no analysis will be done without them. I am not like the people that lock their vision to the H4 as their "master" TF and use only the scant default MT4 TFs. I use a complete series of TFs with dynamic "control" and "focus" TFs. If you want an IMT-based analysis for next week (and even beyond), check here.Ignored
