Why do Newbies Lose?

There are two primary reasons for this.
First, using high Leverage.
Second, betting on small / minor market movement. (Intraday, scalping)

That's why the regulators all around the world reduce the ratio of Leverage on CFDs / Forex Online Trading.

Why many people think they are able to bet and predict tiny market movement like 20 pips, 50 pips, 100 pips. It doesn't make any sense.
The third reason is brokers outright scamming their clients.

Here are some of the things I think contribute the most to most newcomers losing.

- Lack of focus:

- Jumping from trading system to system - I would say pick one with a proven track records and master it.

- Trading too many instruments - I would say pick one and stick with it.

- Poor money management - looking for big wins rather than minimizing losses.

- Focusing on one aspect of price movement. They look at levels but not taking into account the times when the market is most volatile and likely to move most.

- Trading like the heard as appose to trading like smart money. Smart money almost always goes against the retail trader sentiment.

- And finally, not being aware of where liquidy / supply and demand zones are.

I was a newbie and only losing at one point. But once I started to apply the above in my trading, things improved drastically.
Give the market little, Aim to take a lot!

Those are the worst advice ever.

Stick one pair? What the heck? One pair? You must be a gambler or you've just read old information from the internet which the writer had long gone from Forex Online Trading.

Supply and demand zones? Lol . Do you have the capability to determine the supply level zones ? Using what? Horizontal lines?

Those are support resistance levels not supply and demand zones. What a joke.

Even the Central Bank has a difficult time to figure it out, the so called Supply and Demand rates.

Why so many traders believe such thing like that kind of conspiracy theory. Never mind, we need people like you to pay our WD.
Newbies will lose that's very normal. The real question is why after 1 years or more people still lose. The reason is the lack of understanding of market. People are more interested spending time to look for a holy grail than spending time to study and research.
Newbies lose because they think that forex trading can make them rich and so the rush to live trading without even thinking. Most of them never get what forex is all about and in an instant they bolwo their accounts. It is not just about relying on luck as they do but you have to be able to analyze the live trade to determine the price drop or rise.

You seem to be a troll but I will respond just for the sake of new traders seeking direction.

There are many ways to trade profitably. So keep doing what's working for you.

Why don't you share some insight into what's working for you so that other traders can decern whether it's valuable information or BS?

I have never promised to share something about trading system. Haven't I?

And this thread is about why newbies lose. Isn't it?

Was I wrong when I criticized the idea of "supply - demand zones" terminology?

Was I wrong when I criticized the one pair only trading strategy?

And was I wrong when I said many newbies believe in conspiracy theories?

Was I wrong when I said even the central banks have the difficulties to determine supply and demand level?

Was I wrong when I said you determine those levels (supply demand bla bla) by using horizontal lines?

Was I wrong when I said those are terrible advise?

You know the answers.

newcomers always make losses because
they have greed and emotions. they always try to bring profit with no learning.
i always try to learn from m y past mistake , because i do believe the only way i have that cam make prefect one from all.

when i was a newcomer i did huge losses during news , actually trading news is the most difficult part in Forex and you have to be fundamentally strong more and more.
losses during news is very common for any newcomers , because success on news trading depends on acquiring most powerful analysing fundamental knowledge and experience which relates long term experience.

True, trading is a hard profession like being a lawyer or practicing medicine, those take years of learning. Why should trading come naturally?

Before you open a position, you need to have an exit in mind - an exit in the event of an upside, and another one in the event of a downside. This means placing take-profit and stop-loss orders with every position. This is key, otherwise you risk uncapped losses should the markets move against you.
I agree, one should always consider risk management before they trade.

the thing is on numerous posts people have mentioned risk management and you know how many responses it gets ZERO.
Then people wonder why they lose.
I listen to a lot of trading podcasts and virtually every guy is talking about risk management.
Until people start to realise how important this is they will just not get it... and will just strategy hop.
Because the truth is EVERY STRATEGY WILL WORK if the risk is managed well..
I could give someone the "market beating strategy" and they could still fail because they can't manage risk.
