Hey bud, is there anywhere for me to find the Big E' 5-Method? I have looked in the early posts as well as the latest ones but cant seem to find the method outline. Is it in the very first post?

Hi all, so these are 2 demo trades I took. Please have a look and tell me if I am understanding the TMS System.

1. Took a short on USD/CHF on that dotted purple line because TDI crossed below the red line and Stoch agreed. Also TP at next swing point and SL above previous high

2. Took a long trade on CHF/JPY on that dotted purple line because TDI crossed above the red line and Stoch agreed. Also TP at next swing point and SL below previous low.

For both trades I used the 4hr chart. OPen to criticism if Im missing something?

I found this backtest results in Online, Backtest is done in Stock.

I get surprised,Stochastics indicator outperformed MACD. According to these results, MACD is not a good indicator.

Here, Did anyone backtest the TDI indicator, what is the performance of the TDI Indicator.

No surprise that the MACD results are poor: Those settings are terrible ones.

In addition, I suspect that each test was using only a single TF--yet another way to get poor results.

There is also no information given about the entry and exit criteria. We can make some ASSUMPTIONS, by why bother to speculate.

TDI results are dismal if entry is green cross red and exit is the next green cross red in the opposite direction. By simply changing the exit criteria, the results can be improved.

So, without the test parameters included, the tables of results are essentially meaningless.

Atlist, we get some hard evidence how those indicators performed, My question is so many manual traders use TDI, Do we have any hard evidence about TDI.
Probably some people have performance result, I just want to know. how TDI performed.

The only entry criteria that you stated were evaluating TDI green cross red and if stoch agreed. So, I am going to assume that you failed to use any of the several other criteria that BigE listed. And because you did not list any others, I will also assume that you did not even bother to read the first 100 posts.

If you're going to bake a cake, I am confident that you will agree that to get the best results, you must first read the recipe in order to determine the ingredients, the equipment, and the procedure, and then BEFORE starting, ensure that you have all of the ingredients and equipment (and how to use it) and that you understand the instructions. So why is it when it comes to trying this trading system, you jumped in when you haven't even read the recipe yet???

The problem is, you aren't going to find people that are "using TDI" to give performance results because people are using TDI as a PART of a SYSTEM. And few, if any, would be willing to divulge the complete details of the system, so it is then impossible to determine the impact of the TDI, IN THE WAY THAT IT IS USED IN THAT SPECIFIC SYSTEM, on the results.

Do you think that a system that includes TDI in which it is stated "TDI is the heart of the system" is going to have comparable results to a system in which "TDI is just another 'helper' indicator"?

What will you say about the TDI if the performance results are about the same for both systems, and the results are quite good?

There are different tests of different systems carried out by different people over the years.
Different systems with technical studies (Stoch, MACD, RSI, CCI, etc.) being used, different entries and exits strategies and different money management strategies.
What the outcome of those tests came back to the different conclusions - what is the best mental strategies that will suit the different tests results.
According the well know trading coach and psychologists like Dr Van Tharp, Dr Brett Steenbarger, Dr. Ari Kiev, Dr. Jason Williams,... there are many different classifications of mental strategies.

One key question one need to ask himself/herself is - what is in the test results which will convince you that a particular system will work for you.

You will not read anything in this thread by the OP on the mental strategies he used when he was trading and how he manage his mental fitness to become a trader.

Mental Fitness and Trading Psychology

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning, and can be disabling. A schizophrenic hear voices in their head. A trader suffering from Schizophrenia listen to the market talking to them and they struggle everyday trying to learn the market' language.
Some people describe the voices they hear as friendly and pleasant, but more often they're rude, critical, abusive or annoying. The voices might describe activities taking place, discuss the hearer's thoughts and behaviour, give instructions, or talk directly to the person.

Schizophrenic is known to commit serious crimes like forgery, thefts, stealing, impersonating with fake doctorate to their name, impersonating a psychologist by plagiarising his work, impersonating trading guru, etc.

The 5-Method was introduced by the Op in his old thread. There is a bit of history about the old thread and the original title was GBP/USD M15 chart trading which was later changed by FF Admin to Craig Harris Stochastics Method for obvious reasons then. . .. #195

the 21/233 Method is interesting because you will find more trade opportunities and it is a trend following strategy compared to the 5-Method.

both USDCHF and CHFJPY H4 trades are not the best setup criteria and higher risk.

- HA PA is small body and there is no swing reversal pattern (PCRF or 5bar swing high/low)

- the most recent swing USDCHF is UP and CHFJPY is DOWN

- the market type USDCHF Trend 2/8 is bearish, the TDIC1 Daily is bullish

- CHFJPY Trend 2/8 is sideways, the TDIC1 Daily is bearish

The Traders_Dynamic_Index has several different versions since 2005 ands by 2011, there was the Synergy_Pro_TDI released.

Why so many diferent versions over the years between 2005 and 2011?

Why did the OP Big E used only the first version which he subscribed to CompassFX in 2006? He got the new version Advanced TDI version in 2010, did he use that newer version?

A lot of back-testing and forward testing of the TDIs done between 2012 and 2017. The results is not better that what you posted using the Stochastics and the MACD.
But the testing results swing trading H4 is better than day trading H1 and M15. The D1 testing results are better than H4.

Using a simple tool like the TMS_V19 expert advisor it is easy for you to make decision what to trade and when to trade.

EURUSD Oct 29 H4

- Weekly Trend 2/8 ... blue sideways, what tasks to perform here regarding sideways market type?

- Daily TDIC1 ....bearish, green,red below yellow, yellow sloping down ... what trading system strategy seeing this TDI conditions?

- H1 PA is in CONSOLIDATION with the H4 Master Candle... simple decision no H4 trade as of now until when?

- TDI information ... green price line went outside the VB and re-enters the VB low band ... indication of consolidation already confirmed by the H4 PA above.

- today day-trading, can you trade H1 during the FO and LO sessions? YES?

- today can you scalp M15? YES!

You want to know how the TDI performed ...

The TDI is no holy grail indicator.
The TDI is just like any other technical indicators - Stoch, MACD, RSI, CCI, etc.
The TDI performance is mediocre.

The OP with his years of trading experience can trade without the Stoch and TDI post #2617

So what was his mental strategy in trading when he taking clean trades became a breeze?

Follow simple rules for entry and exit requires a trading mental strategy, what is the mental strategy here? Do you know one?

you went long too early , phx62 would have gone long the next hour or 2, thats PCRF confrimation , even tho there was support, there was no entry confirmation so must wait PCRF and then enter , PCRF are V bottom or V tops
