That's why it's a hoax. Its a hoax I don't believe in. Why don't you understand that you are arguing with someone that agrees with you.

You two clearly have different definition of repainting or are just looking for another fight. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Theres repainting only before candle closes AND repainting AFTER candle closes. NOT THE SAME THING.
If I don't mention SL and/or TP = longer-term setup possibly in the works!

What has meaning to me is analyzing a chart after TDI crossover has indicated a possible trade entry one specific bar in a succession of many similar preceding bars.

This guy thinks i started trading on Friday. LMAO

Ive been a TDI fanboy for 2 years man. I raged so much when that YouTuber said TDI repaints whereas all it was doing was rescaling window. Check youtube. Saga of TDI is the name of the video. It was so stupid. He changed other lines to black and left only yellow line. The other lines were making the Indicator window to rescale, it then made the yellow line pixels to change making it look like it was repainting

What i meant by repainting is repainting past crossovers which is the actual hoax. Recalculating Candle (0) after chart refresh is elementary school knowledge

I also don't believe it. I just put it there as a metaphor. Didn't mean it

Don't know about the misunderstanding.
You and Robot are both correct.
TDI recalculate bar (0) which course both green and red to redraw (repaint) them trend lines.
That is why no EA or backtesting does not work with the TDI set-up's.

This is not correct.The indicator gives neither false nor true signals; it merely gives signals. In HINDSIGHT, the signal may or may not agree with the subsequent direction that price takes.

@Tekkies -- for the record...

There is a difference between repainting and recalulating. Recalculating occurs at Bar[0]. Bar[0] is the current bar. A bar is represented by 4 values -- OHLC. Open / High / Low / Close. An Open price is carved in stone -- it never changes, even for Bar[0]. Bar[0]'s Close price changes with each tick. Bar[0]'s High and Low may or may not change with an incoming tick. So, during Bar[0]'s lifetime the HLC are subject to change -- and this is all fine. This occurs with *EVERY* indicator. When the current time frame expires then Bar[0] becomes Bar[1] and its OHLC values are carved in stone, and we start over with a new Bar[0].

With regards to EAs and backtesting -- you absolutely can use TDI. To minimize the phenomenon of recalculation that occurs at Bar[0], most EAs rely on Bar[1] for their signal -- and this holds for TDI, as well.

Again -- you guys really should get clear about the difference between repainting and recalculation. These are really simple concepts but it seems most traders are content with hand-waving arguments about repainting and recalculating and never make an attempt to understand the difference. If you were to understand the difference it would make your lives so much easier. It wouldn't necessarily change the way you manually trade, but it would open your world to EAs that can automate big chunks of your discretionary trading rules.

However, as BigE stated clearly THIS thread is about the 5-method with the TDI the HEART, whereas the earlier 5-method where he used the HA bar closing across the ema5 is too conservative for him and NOT discussed in the method in THIS thread.
