On the second. An engulfing candle was formed before the drop.

But, Tdi and 5 ema will indicate these reversals too. Also, Candle stick patterns work only like 55% of the time. Thats why I take my trades based on momentum, TDI, 5 ema and Stochs

I don't look at candle patterns.

I include IMT in my analyses, so there is no trade setup on H1.

On M15, there is a sell setup for me, but not where you marked.

Nar.FX: Pinbar, Resistance / Engulfing candle.
Tekkies: Resistance and wick's to the upside(downside?) / Double top

And that is if you know all of the about 40 candlestick patterns to apply. If you take only the "top 10", the results are even worse.

Also before y'all take a look. The dotted Ema is a 20 ema. I use h4 to know my trading bias. Switching between TF can be confusing sometimes, if i write it down, Bias can change anytime. So 4 hoursx5ema=20ema. So i can se h4 5ema bias from my h1 timeframe. This trick might also be useful for some traders!!!

Only 1 loss from AUDUSD. All entries taken from TDI+Stochs

Made this today cos i was doing some TDI backtests on GBPUSD and 2 days in a row on July TDI ate shit, Massive sHiT. But from then till the rest of the month. Smooth cruise.

Good that you have questions.
There is no single "boss" indicator in Trading Made Simple 5-Method. Do not mix up other rules and other methods from other threads. Post#5, this thread is only for the OP' 5-Method.

The OP Big E made this post#160 for you. And also many other posts which you need to read, study and learn.
Most important is - The final say is by the trader and not rely on any lagging and repainting indicator. The Op Big always has his final say whether to take a trade or not and because he has written rules. He was a rule-based discretionary type of trader. And according to studies by Dr Van Tharp, rule-based discretionary are the best traders. {here}

Unless you mastered this method already... keep the questions or concerns coming. Post your Demo trades too.

Continue making Demo trades to build your confidence and study old charts where the TDI gives clean signals... it will pay you in spades... well, pips in our case...

Did you read the OP' old thread and watched all the tutorial videos in Post#4, #13 to #20?
Those videos will provide you the basic foundation knowledge of Big in his system development of his 5-Method and his 21/233 Method.

Very True. But to be honest. Its simpler to just look at:
1. Tdi cross
2. Stoch pointing down
3. Price breaks 5ema dyn. Support

Ez.

I personally didn't take this trade cos it was against my bias for EURUSD. Who knows what might happen?

Of course, it looks simpler when backtesting and studying old charts,

until you start trading in realtime live market condition with real money

And the OP Big E can trade without TDI and Stoch.

How did you arrive that candlestick patterns work only 55% of the time.

According to Thomas Bulkowski the % is quite different.

And according to Steve Nison, his % are also different.

I know from my own trading experience the Engulfing and Outside bars/candlesticks has a much higher percentage of winners.
