If you are scalping say m5 and M15,

The best trade setups are usually when there are 3 basic things:
1) direction of the market
2) levels of support and resistance
3) the price action where we must see either strong buying with higher highs higher lows or strong selling with lower highs lower lows.

Please check your template file again. It may be that you colour your TDI lines wrongly.

I do my homework after the market has closed.
I compare your trade chart and the template you posted before and the TDI Post#25 and your TDI Vline are different.

On your trade chart, the TDI cross when the 3rd read Japanese candle closed not before. Your sell entry was before the 3rd candle closed.

On the second chart, the Stoch cross one bar earlier that the TDI .

my simple answer is,

- study old charts and look for these below.

Topics:

1) price MOMENTUM candles

2) TMS 5-Method Set-up candles

3) CraigHarrisStochMethod True REVERSAL candles

Once you know these and can see these easily on your trading charts, you are making very good progress.

It looks like you posted in the wrong thread. This is BigE's TMS thread. He never used EAs and the only time he spoke of them was to say they are not part of TMS and not to be added or discussed.

It does sounds like a lot but if you want to get started on Big E trading journey in Forex Factory, there are 1488 posts to read. This thread is a good place to start but Big E journey ended at end 2011.

One of my usual weekend homework is to read PMs and to help members. One PM last week was asking : " on what filter you use to pick your trades,... etc. and how do I know if the market is trending or correction ...."

Yes. the MACD is not TMS. But it is an important component in the COWABUNGA system which I traded for years.

The concept of MACD is based moving average convergence divergence and can be use to see the 'trend' and the 'correction/retracement' in a 'trend'.
The MACD (24,52,9) setting you use is not tested with TMS and its performance in TMS is not proven.

In the COWABUNGA system, the default MACD(12,26,9) is use.

However, to use MACD as filter in TMS, we need to 'calibrate' the setting to be in sync with the TDI (13,0,34,2,0,7,0,2) default setting. The MACd would be (2,13,7) with its 0.0 level which is important.

Below is a chart example comparing the TDI Red Green with MACD(2,13,7).
Several TMS members have tested this years ago and have experienced improved results better trades and reducing losses therefore improve winning rate. Remember, when you want to add indicator like the MACD make sure you test it over a long time in the markets and have at least 1,000 trades over a period of 12 to 36 months. You need to do this tests and be sure that the indicator can complement TMS and is not detrimental to your own system. This is what I do in trading system development.

I studied all his training charts and it is very true when you pick the reversal entry correctly. This is also true when you pick the 'bounce' trade... CONTINUATION trade in an established swing or 'trend'.

However, when I trade the breakout of the CONSOLIDATION like the Master Candle and Inside Bar, my initial SL is quite different.
I use the high or low of the Master Candle or the Mother Bar of the Inside Bar.
In the recent weeks cases when I day trade H1, if the initial SL is more than 50 pips, then I reduce the trade lot size according to my %Risk and Positions Sizing rules.
Note that I trade 3 to 5 pairs at the same time and I split the daily trade risk into maximum 5 parts. This is my Money Management Strategy and this would prevent a one time huge loss in one day or one week.

Yes, you can trade without the TDI like the OP had said several times. But you first need to master the trading the 5-Method and have very good trading knowledge and experience in trading with Price Action at Support&Resistance.

On your mobile platform, you can replicate the TDI using the RSI which is known as the Fozzy-RSI.

Here is link to an old post by a senior member Dimi.A on how to replicate the TDI on your mobile. This approach can also be used on any other trading platform without the custom indicator Traders_Dynamic_Index.
