In a volatile enviroment like, forex trading is like gambling. A very big part of it like, money management - example 2% risk and 1:3 risk to reward is coming from gambling.

Also trading is investing too and you have much more choices when the money is in, you can break even, stop how much you want from an amount, but in poker once the money is in then you can't get them out or split.

Forex is more like, a game and not gambling.

I have a rule to not trade with money I can't afford and trade only with spare money.

also the odds of a outcome..

card sharks count cards....they narrow down the odds for certain outcomes. odds for breaking a strong S&R would help in deciding where to buy and sell

It's not an excuse nor a guarantee everything will work out.

There is a difference between a risk and a gamble. Look at it from the perspective of running a business. Gambling is flipping a coin and hoping things will turn in your favor. No successful business owner runs his or her business like that. A business involves risk, but it also involves planning, analysis, counting the cost, and management.

Trading is a business. It's not gambling.
Learn from your mistakes and march on.

Did you notice how everytime you are not commenting here, everyone is debating about the trading and positions.

You come and start leaving useless comments and it is just all nonsense arguments. I think you should take a break from trading and this thread. Go do something else, get yourself together. Once you fix whatever is bothering you, come back to trading and this thread. But for now I think you should take a break from trading and all the threads. You can just tell that you are frustrated and you need to take a break.

Whatever excuses you take, the moment you push the button knowing that your analysis could be wrong, without certainty of return of investment.. you took a gamble.

Honestly no. You can tell he is frustrated. There is something going on with this guy for a while now. He needs to leave forex trading, take a break, refresh and come back fresh. Not sure what happened, either he blew his account or it is just not going his way for a while.

Yes I totaly agree, I also following this guy, even he create his own thread.
Just post chart or anything else usefull rather than try to outsmart people. Everything in this live is pure gambling. There is nothing certain in every action we take. Nothing is 100% , we only minimize our risk manage them. Even trading real stuff also like that.
Learn to respect other people and don't try to be the smartest here.
But if you can show me a Trade explorer of consistent profit for 5 years, I will lift my hat to you.

Well, I'm just not part of the clique in here. That's why my comments are not welcome. I'm the odd guy in the room who refuses to conform to the popular opinions of the clique.

You need to take a break from trading. For a week or whatever time it will take for you to deal with your issues. You are frustrated and you need to deal with whatever is bothering you.

you are right. there is a difference between a risk and gamble. There is a part of a gamble with opening a business, thats why not all business win. They draw up business plans, studies, a lot of efforts put into a business before it start....this effort is done to reduce the odds (gamble) of business failing. There is not 100% certainty that a business will succeed....you do everything you can to make sure the gamble is in your favor....you do the same thing for your trades....you can do all the technical analysis you want but its not 100% certainty it will go as you plan that's a fact and that's a gamble....but all you did is to improve your odds of winning.

but your comparing them and its apples and oranges. risk are inherent of a gamble unless the odds are 100% in your favor, you cant loose.

trading is a business, you gamble. Do you win all your trades? If don't win all them your a gambling. You use your understating of technical and fundamental analysis to increase your odds of winning the gamble. Its a gamble because its seldom 100% certainty.

EDIT: you figure winning chance of 99.9% well there is a 0.01% percent chance you could not win...that's a gamble....how you approach that with risk management is different. you would risk more on a 99% chance to win than you would on 20% chance to win

if the odds of winning are not 100% its a gamble because their is something to account for that you can't control....that's gamble.
