Hi forexjedi,

i watch for strong vs weak and than waiting on the m1 for retrace. Im actually testing what MA`s work best, what timeframe etc. But in general its that easy.

Hope that helps a bit!

Thank you for sharing, sounds interesting. I'll take a closer look at that idea and it does seem quite easy. I'll take a close look at your screen shot. What MAs do you use in your previous screen shot?

This was a 34 Ema with a 8 Ema. But thats not so important. More important seems to me htf`s mas. Im back there to the standard 37 smoothed with median price.

As a tip for you heres somewhere a thread calledtrading is as simple as abcd by clive backham if i remember correctly. Thats an easy way to look for pullbacks. A 7period cci histo. Below a e/n m1 trade from todays noon. The htfs agreed and m1 was trading above a smoothed ma 200. Hope that helps a bit. But remember im a newbie to this and still testing...

Hi all:

Thanks to all who have contributed here freely.
Just getting on board here and learning the MADdash Indicator so very early days for me.
Having loaded the indicator for a few hours, I haven't seen any ALERTS being printed. What settings do I use to display the Alerts on chart?.

Thank you.

There are some settings under the input tab to configure the alerts. I haven't taken time to figure them out yet. It's probably a good feature. I have not figured out a way to get alerts when price crosses the moving average channel. I have a couple of indicators I will play with this weekend. I'll post if I have success.

Do no think too hard, just a minor twist. No need divine inspiration nor great coder. Nor that image with balls that serve no purpose.

Just put a MA on a M1 chart and start thinking from there

{quote} There are different ways to inspire people and it is always the choice of each individual how you react to information. I am inspired by seeing what others have done and finding my path to doing the same thing or even better. I am also challenged and provoked to action when I hear that something is impossible and I try to give it my best to see whether it can be done (or possible). We have all been told that it is almost impossible to succeed in this market or that only 5% succeed and I just wanted to prove to myself that it is possible....

1 suggestion , It will be better if we can define Different MA's for Different pairs. Not common for all.
Coz all pairs reacts differntly to MA's , not all bounce on 55 , 100, 200. Some bounce some not.
It will give us clear picture. If we can difine MA's setting individually.
Hope you make it.
BTW! Nice indicator ,dont have to look each pair seprately..

I just confirmed MADd (180603).ex5 works with the latest MT 5 build 2615. If you are not using both of these latest versions, please start with updating to them.

Think the issue you are experiencing is when MT 5 does not have local access to all the required data. There are many various posts here on Forex Factory about adding symbols to your Market Watch panel and tools that can force downloads of data. After taking these steps restart MT 5.

Regards

Hi,

First of all, thanks to 919gilead for inventing MADdash and honestknave for programming!

It has occurred to me earlier that past data should also be displayed, and I read a request to that effect here in the forum the other day. In a couple of weeks, a solution was born, as I think.

Some settings verbally (others attached as images):
- MA_period, MA_price, MA_method I think is clear,
- Threshold: currency strength is in the range of 0-7. If the value is above the threshold, the indicator turns green (eg strong for green), otherwise it remains gray
- Rates_refresh_sec: refreshes every two seconds,
- Visible_bars: number of bars to be displayed per time plane for histogram display,
- bar_with: width of the bar in points,
- bar_space: distance between two bars in points,
- bar_height_multiplier: bar height can be adjusted by multiplying the strength / weakness value by this number,
- show_grid: histogram display can be switched instead of grid.

The size of the screen can be very varied, so the number of bars can also influence the parameters of the grid to be displayed - after a little experimentation, everything can be displayed optimally.
With my current knowledge, I have been able to do this, welcome it!
(Sorry for the quality of my writing, I don't know English, I wrote this description with a translator.)
