The only way to truly trade successfully is to adapt a system to your personality. For me too technical bores me, just don't have the patience. I started out that that way and blew 2, 5 figure accounts. First system I ever had some success, I paid $99 for was kind of breaking even, then 1 late night took system and altered it to suit my personality and Boom. Ever since that point that its what I enjoy, taking systems that look interesting and adapting them for my style. I'm not an innovator but I am an excellent mechanic.

Hi everyone!

This is my fisrt post ever in FF! Got no idea why it took me so long to reply to this post!

Anyway, thank you Rocky for sharing this system with us. Well, i'm still a newbie in forex so ive been studying like crazy, reading books like "50 pips a day", anna coullings volume book and so on. My new book to study is going to be the "Technical Analysis Explained" by Martin Pring. As i said, i've been trying to learn some new stuff and get some ideas of trading, and your system, this system is AWESOME, it is the first system that made sense for me, and it is very neat. Thanks dude! I'm looking forward to post some trades.

Hi, Do you place your trades manually? I find it stressful to trade in M5. You seem to be in full control of how you place your trades. Thanks in advance for your sharing.

OK, now for some non-technical trading information. I am re-reading the following three books over the next 6 weeks:

1. Mark Douglas - Trading in the Zone
2. Mark Douglas - The Disciplined Trader
3. Steve Peters - The Chimp Paradox

I read them every year. You see I am not a "natural" trader. It is a difficult endeavour for me at times. My system works consistently well but it is "me" that can get in the way. For example I am not really good at letting trades run to logical next levels and I can be guilty of moving my stops too early. I have for some time wondered what sort of personality/ experience makes for the best traders. I have always felt (and just my thought only) that (a) Woman generally make better traders (less ego) and (b) engineers/mechanics (Rocky Point) who deal in logic based functions...make for better traders. Maybe it is that left brain/right brain thing? What I know is that I need a mental tune up every 6 months in terms of discipline and process and so I retreat to the books. This will be my 8th reading of the above books. Just saying. Too many novice traders look for quick wins or easy wins; they chase systems; they have unrealistic expectations etc etc. Find something that works that gives you the "edge" and then work on your own mind set. That is the path to trading nirvana. Rant over.

Well said Rob. Trading full time can at times weigh on your psyche, for me its at times just not feeling "right", Where usually obvious thing just become harder for me to to see. Rob reads. I just step away and ignore trading for awhile.
No trading for me today, going to spend it spoiling my awesome wife starting with breakfast in bed.

It's a strange phenomenon isn't it Rocky. There are days/weeks for me when I feel at ease and in sync with the market; and I can almost get predictive in terms of market moves. And then there are the times when I look at the market and feel "blind". I am thinking of presenting a trading course next year and I want it to be at least 50% on the psychological aspects of trading. I don't think this will go down well as all new traders (and I was one of them) only want to know one thing (drum roll please)....."WHERE DO I ENTER"? I really wish in my formative trading days a professional trader would have sat down with me, snacked me in the mouth a few times and told me the real no hold-bars reality of the mental aspect of trading. It would have saved me years in chasing systems etc etc. One of the real pearls of wisdom's you have shared is finding a strategy/system that suits your personalty, that is predictive and repetitive. For example I could never be a long terms swing trader. I have a friend who trades Daily Swing patterns and he can regularly be in a trade with a draw-down of 100-150 Pips (on multiple lot sizes) and guess what? He is as cool as Fonzie from Happy Days. Not a care in the world. He might only take 1-2 trades a month and he doesn't care AND he makes a killing. That system would have me seeking therapy and leaving the house in a white jacket! I need to trade on a daily basis, it is just who I am. My system(s) throw up 2-5 opportunities a day and for me that is just fine. Every trader has to find the system that suits their unique personality and lifestyle. By way of final example I generally ignore most of the trades posted on this thread. Don't get me wrong; I am both delighted that (a) traders are sharing and (b) they are posting wining trades. I am delighted for them. But if I see a chart that does not look like mine, or has a tonne of indicators I ignore it totally because with my personality I can get pulled in different directions and I learned to ignore these distractions. This is also a reason I don't subscribe to any other FX services as such. I get macro-economic reports and analysis but that is about it. Go back to those charts and we may have to wait for US Retail Sales to see some price movement (or not).

If you do not pay attention to key levels and price structure you would be better off donating your money to charity. I have every 4HR S&R level marked on my chart. Simple:
1. Do not trade Long into higher time-frame R;
2. DO not trade Short into higher time-frame S.
