I see that this would have been a good trade as it went on to my TP. But I couldn't stay up any longer, so I am happy that my entry was good, and that someone else may have taken those pips.

We don't spend too many words on analysis because we are all trading with different methods and we tend to keep our methods to ourselves for the most part. The main point of the journal is for people to post their entry right after they enter, then updates along the way, if possible, and finally another screenshot as the trade concludes, win or lose. As I'm sure you've noticed in FF there are thousands of 'hindsight trading' guru's, but none of them can post their trade 'live'....which leads to one conclusion (imo), which is that they are full of it!! So we are all up front and honest and I think that this is a good thing for our mindset as RB mentioned to you.

So anyway, great to see you here, and we'll no doubt catch up again later

Thanks very much Lisa. I immediately felt the comfort you feel when you described taking half off at 20 pips. Then greed kicked in and said I would be very unhappy if my target was hit. RJ's and pips29's methods both have their merits. I think I'll have to decide on one and then just shut up when it doesn't quite work. I have been explaining my trades to some degree and that's because I've only recently (relatively) returned to trading with a new insight and I'm still refining my method. It will be a good sign when I stop wittering on so much. Thanks again.

I think what suits one person doesn't necessarily suit another one. The one thing I have watched and learned (again) from RJ is patience To be patient enough to wait for what you think will be a good trade and then when you are quite confident things will go in your favour at least to your BE it makes it very much easier to hang on.
Success means going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm

The GBP news has messed up my charts a bit now. I'll have to wait for them to sort themselves out but that may take a while. I can't see any setups coming my way for a while so I'l have to just bide my time. Never mind......I would like 39 pips by the end of tomorrow, so I have time!! (and coffee!)

yeah same with me. gonna have to wait until Price settles down. i had very very good days trading Monday - Wednesday this week but was trying out a modified plan so set my lots 10% what i would normally trade was hoping to make up the difference today

As with many of my recent trades, this one will depend on the USDX, which is currently trying to break through the BRN of 93.000 to go up. If it does, my trade should be ok. If it gets spat out by the BRN, then my trade will crash and burn. Such is life!
