Check your picture. The chart showed on the 15m that price had poked it's head past the bridge, and there was a precedence for it going higher. Don't take a trade until something CONFIRMS the move. A sell here seemed feasible, but had you waited for a candle to close below this level that would be a better confirmation. Price challenges support and resistance in two ways. It breaks past it.. returns to it then continues. Meaning a candle closes PAST it.. then price returns to it before continuing. Or price closes above the level. Then a candle closes below the level signaling it has failed to claim the level. This is of course all reversed in a bearish scenario.

Gold is at critical point now, to me opportunity is in the offing, it seems it is breaking out of range resistance, hope this is not a trap, if it goes below 1810-12 again then, the range support can be touched at 1795
