Is this a pattern you can explain fundamentally or is this pattern highly statistically significant? Otherwise it is probably just by chance..

I just closed out my long position in the event we get a retracement with billish dollar news. This way I can get back in again. This has been a good week I did well with my long positions but I’m not completely confident that the dollar isn’t going to go bullish and reverse this thing.

I just checked, it was definitely not the case for the EURUSD or the DXY. For a broad USD index there was a period from 2006 to 2013 where this worked on average but over 25 years the July performance is flat and it in 2014 and 2015 the broad USD appreciated sharply. So I would not call it a reliable pattern.

Think about it like this..

you were up +100 pips
you were up (again) +75 pips

looks like the target was hit.

Gotta take the profit when you got it, targets aren't always going to be hit. Anything can happen
