Thank you Jupiter. We have a good group of traders here in the journal, and each of us has the same philosophy for trading, which is great. We all trade differently, but we're up front with our trades and that's got to good

Went into 3 trades yesterday as per my TE, all 3 were losers, and all 3 were based on bias rather than anything else at all. Never mind, its just one day, and lesson learned ....I think Discipline, discipline, discipline.

Its really nice being able to post here RJ, very nice thread.

I have a Sell on GA. With luck it will become a safe trade before any news arrives. There's enough time so we shall see.

It's really hard to remain with discipline when we see the markets moving, but not giving us an entry that satisfies our entry criteria. But we have to just sit on our hands and wait it out.....there's no other way. The thread is going very, very well lisat....thanks for being here

Since I took my +38 on GA, we can see that (at the time of the screenshot), the PA has continued on down another 45 pips, more or less. I could sit here and cry about leaving all those pips 'on the table' and bemoan the fact that I may have exited too soon...etc etc etc. But here's the reality. I aimed for +38, and I got +38. I got what I aimed for. Why would I cry about getting the target that I set for my trade? My rules tell me to exit at the BRN unless the PA is super powerful and will carry on. I didn't feel sure that this was the case with this trade, so I followed my rules and took the +38 profit. The 45 (or more) pips that I supposedly 'left on the table?'.......they're not MY pips, they belong to someone else. I got what I wanted and I'm happy about that. If someone else picked up the rest of the pips, I'm happy about that too.

This is the discipline (imo) that we speak of. Not just discipline to enter at the time when my entry criteria is met, but all to exit when my target is reached.

Had I got greedy and NOT taken the profit, and the PA reversed from the BRN (as it often does), wouldn't I feel and look like a right idiot?!?! And that's what I'd be.....a greedy idiot!!

So, the moral of the story is set you target and never be sad if your target is hit but the PA goes on without you. Those extra pips are not yours. You got what you aimed at....smile and make coffee!!
