The point of the question was to expose the falsity of the claim. When one says, 'Everything is relative!', he or she is essentially saying there are no absolutes. But if there were no absolutes, then how could such a statement be true? In saying, 'Everything is relative!', the person making the claim is implying his or her statement/belief is absolute. Thus, this violates the law of non-contradiction.
