Good start to the week my only trade for today so far +65 pips. I don't do this often but I have my own set rules and If I had been awake to see this trade I would have taken it where the signal was so when I did get the chance to see it I took the trade at a better price with a small position.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here (on FF) and I've just read all this thread.

I've read some books about technical analysis but I cannot consider myself as an experienced trader. I'm just an engineering student that love math, numbers.
I don't trade for living because as I sad, this is not my main work but this does not mean that I don't put my effort in markets and trading.

This thread help me to better understand a symple bunch of "rules" (they are not rules so just say it between "" ahahaha), but first of all I found out a bunch of people that want to improve themselves and if you read all these post in a day or two as I just did, seems like you guys are a group of collegues. This is a so rare thing on internet (and a so so rare thing on FF).

p.s.
I'm Italian and I noticed that there're a few of other Italians here so first of all I want to say "FORZA RAGAZZI!" (not just to the other Italian guys but to everyone... so "COME ON GUYS!", that's kinda tricky situation).
I also translated all RobinHood tips in Italian.

Thanks so much for this thread that is just a virtual place where I feel at home. Thanks RH!

You're welcome dammasu, and thanks for posting. Trading can be a thrilling life-long adventure if you want it to be. Learn Price Action and Technical Analysis. Read the Market Wizards books and read about Jesse Livermore. Best of luck to you!

In your example you're going against the Daily tf, but it depends on you to look at higher tf or not.

It's not so much bad, as it is that you are trading against the higher time which is not ideal. Plus, I find that trading the CAD is usually more frustration than it's worth.

Thats the Challenge, If we compare with H4 and D1 , we wont get many possible setups, but there is some tricks, some traders here they are taking positions based on only H4 confirmations , probably their own rule or they are expert in PA. I am still trying to learn. Below example is for US30Index H4 if we entered we could have earned a lot. But D1 didnt confirm to Short US30index. That would be helpful if someone can share how to read the D1, Weekly Chart when we see the signal on H4.

Is this a good signal to enter? Also is it better to wait for the Daily SMI to move upwards first?

Excellent Sir, This is helping my poor brain to understand much better , Thanks very much. I have read your rules , templates multiple times, final question how to read the Daily Chart ? Thats the big Challenge. May be new template would help. Mostly when I check H4 and D1 not in alignment. Small tips could be very helpful. If we consider this USindex 30 we missed many points since D1 didnt agree to enter short. But yesterday there was a Sell Signal on D1 may be little late to enter on H4 or this is how we need to enter for a 100% confirmation on both D1 and H4. Hope you are busy trading now. Please share some inputs when you get a chance. No rush.

I hear you man! I don't know what to look for in higher tf. If higher TF is in a setup, lower TF price has already exhausted and looking to reverse.
I don't know if we should look at candle color, candle above or below 5ema, ha color, etc, to use as a guide for lower TF.

It is, but what concerns me is that the Daily chart is in a down mode. So yes, it is better to wait for the Daily to confirm. BUT..sometimes you miss some good trades, it's just something you have to learn to accept.

Hi, would this be valid grounds for a continuation trade on the H4 or no because the HMA didn't change colour? Cheers

You read all time frame charts exactly the same. What applies to the 4 hr. also applies to the Daily.

Waiting for the Daily to confirm will cause you to miss lots of good trades on the 4 hr. but it will also save you from a lot of bad trades.

The thing EVERYONE has to understand is THAT YOU MAKE YOUR OWN TRADING RULES TO FOLLOW.

If I had all the correct answers, I would be better at trading and richer than Warren Buffet.

Looks like smTMMS Oscillator_v7.1 is solid. We may miss trades but we can stick with some rules.

Do not see setup first on H4 because this may or may not be aligned.
Always go to D1 and see the recent upward or downward arrow on smTMMS Oscillator_v7.1
Then go to H4 and check possible setup you can enter anytime after the H4 candle closes, as long as you didnt receive a reverse signal and inline with D1 go for it.

In my above example US30 index on Daily Chart Sell generated on Friday close. You can see all possible short setups from Sunday/Monday open as long as H4 is inline with D1. Once H4 reversed to enter buy we should have to exit the trade. May be late to the party, but not not always. atleast we have some set of concrete rules. RH has to confirm. Lets see.

Does this make sense.

Then technically there is only a Crossover trade and no Continuation trade so far.
