Hi Emm, how did this go......did you drop using the EA as for trade alerts. And,please forgive my ignorance as I am still a newbie in forex trading. I thought an EA automatically takes a trade for the user.....how then can one use an EA to just get trade alerts only and stop it from automatically opening positions once conditions are met?

Do what BigE did.
Set a alarm (five minutes before) according to the time frame you want to use. Check chart's.
It works better then a alarm.
- can check other pairs that might be ready for a crossover
- can close trades, add trades, adjust SL and TP

I have shown this for years how to use the pipware multi-chart tool. But you rant day-in day-in about me using extra indicator, etc.
Those pipware multi-chart when setup to use the TDI#25 will show one the same screen the different TDI on different timeframe in realtime market.

I have done this for years and posted many charts to show the TDI compare on the same chart and in the same sub-window. You made the screen shot and screamed your head off saying I use extra indicator, etc.
It is not just the crossover and you are still confused with how the OP Big E used his TDI#25.

I am here to help shorten your learning curve. Save people a lot of time running around looking for things which I have already used and tested and working well for years.

The best tool to use for TDI alert is the TMS Monitor. Learn to set that up and use its alert feature for the pairs you want to trade.

The other tool is the pipware charts.

Here a few simple tools I use,

TMS Monitor

Pipware multi-charts

lookup these posts below.

Post#193 for the TMS Monitor tool

and

Post#76,270 for the pipware tool


setup your charts with those simple tools the way you want to see them and use them. save them as your own templates.

most important is you know the 5-Method and how to trade the 5-Method.

make sure you read those threads for more information how to set up the indicator (pipware) and the expert advisor(TMS Monitor).
if you have questions, post and ask in those threads and I'll try find time and help there.

Be warned: The TMS Monitor is an expert advisor and can be very CPU intensive if you select all pairs in the input parameter.
For optimum performance, I have only up to 20 pairs.
You should consider to select only the pairs you trade and input their symbol in the parameter.

I tested this system on H4 timeframe EURUSD from about 2017 to 2018. Not sure if it works as I expected

Valdastrade.
This method with indicators provide by BigE can not be backtest with accuracy.
Reason is that Post#25 TDI red green change some crossover's on refreshed charts.

Test it yourself:
- Chose any pair / timeframe
-- Do not refresh chart. the more crossover are on the chart the better.
- Draw v-line + trendlines on a live real account like in Post 100,009 (third chart in post)
- Save as Tester.tpl (make a template)
- Run Strategie Tester for the same periode chosen for template
- Check Strategie Tester trade entry's against trend-lines plotted by you.
OR
- Open a live real chart, place post#25 TDI on that chart
-- Do not refresh chart. the more crossover are on the chart the better.
- Synchronized that chart with Strategie Tester chart
- Run Strategie Tester with same TDI in slow settings.
- Check Strategie Tester trade entry's against real chart TDI crossover.

very good Valdastrade now that you have done your own back-testing.

you learned many things doing back-testing - the pros and cons.

there are some limitations to back-testing. once you know the limitations you will learn even more.

next step is to start forward testing in live market when the market is open.

this is not correct.

the TDI (Post#25) was provided by Dean Malone of CompassFx and Big E repeated many times that he downloaded that indicator from that website.

that TDI and all other subsequent newer TDI versions can be tested in your MT4 strategy tester and also in ForexTester2.0 software.

you cannot test the trading style of the OP aka Big E using any of the tester above. That is one of the limitation.

but you can manually test using the history data with some limitations.
other members have shared their experience how they did this manually testing years ago.

Reader's can read all about it in Post 51 if they want to.
They can even find where BigE posted TDI Red Green in Post 14

TDI is created provided by Dean Malone
TDI is provide by BigE
create --- bring (something) into existence.
provide --- make available for use; supply.
Maybe, you will be able to understand now why the word "provide" is used in the context of that post.

do you know how many times the Op mentioned Compassfx website and to download the TDI from there?
every time someone reads his post between 2008 and 2011 and did that, they would have downloaded different TDI version at different time.

have you been to that compassfx website today?

do you own due diligence....

if the TDI is king, there would be millions of retail spot forex traders out there.

but if anyone wants to have the TDI Cloud, here is one website where you will find one version.

Well, after examining some numbers on Forex traders in various countries (updated February 2019) that estimates 77 million worldwide, and even if we allow a HUGE margin of error and take a mere 50% of that value we get 38 million, and then if we further make an (absurd) correction that only 50% of those are retail traders we get over 19 million!, Therefore we can safely conclude that TDI is KING! Nice that you finally let the numbers support King TDI!

Since you are promoting TDICloud.
You should use "5EMAvline"
It give nice long trend's, does not repaint the v-line, actually it is by far better indicator then TDICloud, 5EMA, HA combined.

Why TDI and Stoch beat 5EMAvline is because the trader miss out on all the nice counter trends.
Therefor Tekkies is staying with what BigE has provide in this thread.
