In the European session for 1hr and 2 mins, my Broker platforms on CTRADER & META TRADER crashed due to no Liquidy so I could not maintain my positions There fobbing me off with it was all brokers did any other trader have this problem trading the DOW - thanks in advance.

Angi I’m short, was mearly making an observation, If you read back my posts you’ll see I’m heavily short and remaining that way for the foreseeable future but may cover my position when the bounce becomes obvious.

no recommendations from me mate. We all must trade our own charts with our own strategy.

I still think this could close a lot higher but personally will be looking to add shorts if it does.

my view over a longer timeframe is down

To be clear I also think it could close a lot lower now hence I didn’t cover, to uncertain of short term direction. If unsure stay out eh.

If coronavirus was a war, it’s sat on the point at which no one knows how big or bad it could get, with such uncertainly & endless possibilities surrounding it, who in their knowledgable mind would buy into that?

fuck the fed, they have controlled the market but they can’t control fear.

Hm. I do wonder if there’s no CB intervention here whether that PMI data will lead to some serious bearishness.

Majority of data is BS, it makes the market move but only as an excuse for something to believe in.

Been thinking about the situation... agree with D1 about CBs & bullish market, but Catempire could be right. Markets are so high that it seems natural a retracement. Look at the weekly chart, it could fall 1000 points more and still be bullish.
I dont know how the markets makers work, but taking profits now and creating a little panic to reload later sounds logical to me.

75% of my trades are on D1 charts but I never trade CFDs on D1 charts because it's too risky. Happy trading all

It could fall a lot further than 1000 more pips and still be bullish. Dow was at 27000 & Spx was at 2980 less than 6 months ago & what has happened since then ?

amazon / Walmart etc etc will be hit massively by the global situation.

40% of amazon sales come from China. A ridiculously high % of Walmart’s goods are made in China. Car manufacturers, Apple?

then the virus growth moving forward ? Potential for a pandemic, restaurateurs will close, people will stop going to work, shit will shut down....

So much uncertainty surrounding the situation, like i said before, who would by up here ? the charts (inc amazon) are almost vertical, Uncanny to a blowout.

big old divergence on the Dow monthly.

shit data on route (market doesn’t wait - it just doesn’t work like that) if it’s known it gets priced in.

the situation has changed.

p.s. starting to sound like a broken record. So from here I’ll respect D1’s page rules and focus on posting trades. Weekend Dow down 130 points so far. Nothing overly hectic on the weekend situation so if it opens down, certainly expecting a gap fill.

Short limit order placed below 29k.

Weekend Dow is down 0.50%, deaths in Italy, bad PMIs.

G20 meeting discussed stimulus to prop up markets again, so perhaps we will see some of that action in the coming weeks.

Nasdaq looks like its technically set for a bounce back up, but Dow is showing further downside. Difficult to gauge the extent when the market is running on fear.

Out of hours Asian session could really pull the markets down tonight. Hope it doesn’t!
