also my advice for demo traders out there..
stop trading with demo..!!!
just wasted your time testing and trading with demo..
lots of brokers currently have offer cents or micro accounts
so used that opportunity much better than at demo..
maybe lots of you will not agree or angry with me about this..but can’t ran from reality..
if afraid losing money so better don’t learn about forex..
just for a cup of coffee...

I always taught that you hold the third position only when you are shure that is going that way.
But now I understand that third position is only a gamble for you. and I based some of my analisys on thinking that if you hold so long those positions, shurely they won’t get closed before tp. Now I understand!

you’re not understand yet how forex play..
need more study and learn..
nothing is for sure or comfirm at forex
especially at those pairs that bumping a lots..
they will not let you ride them an easy ride
so always prepare a lots of pit stop for us to stop all the way we ride them..
you still miss lots of thing there mate..
every price pump or dump by news or events so will pump or dump by anothers news or events too..
remember and noted what i said there..
about gamble trading..
not have in my notebook..

i give you 1 easy thing you miss there..
others you analysis n thinks what it is..
few week ago i post several time about the bull possible continue from weekly bull run with same kind of setup from previous setup at down below..
so if we are a wise traders we need always be alerts by that..so did you anaylsis or thinking about that???

Just a question, cuz in my opinion everything is at least a little subjective, so... you're saying that we shouldn't use demo accs cuz we are afraid of losing money, that's why we use them. But if the demo acc is just like a normal acc but the money is fake, why would I waste, let's say... 1000$ of real money during the process of learning forex, if i can lose 1000$ of fake money and get the same result? Of course the mentality has to be there, you must trade the demo acc as if it was your actual money, cuz then yeah, you are just wasting time, by this I mean, you have to treat the fake money as if it weas actualy yours in a sense that you must be cautions and calculated on every trade you take, etc..

demo is good for newbies to learn some basics things. but of course we know that in demo broker wont place plugins as in real account

in demo you will experience very smooth connection, very good execution, very rare requote/offquote, spread rarely pump up etc

there is noway you are going to execute your trades same as live accounts.
when you are going to trade in a live account, 1000 of things come to your mind.
you start to sweat
your heart beat starts to rise.
you try to check not one, but 10 strategies to confirm your trade.
so as akim said, it is better to practice in a bonus account, than in demo accounts.
whatever you do in demo, it still keep on saying " demo, demo, not real money not real money " etc.

I see where you're coming from Xnaro. To a certain extend demo is good, but very to a very limited extent. Learning how the platform works, placing trades etc it's good to try out on demo...but the main bit of learning how to TRADE should be with cash. It's equivalent to learning how to juggle with knives. Do you think the psychological aspects are the same using dull blades vs. sharp? Though it might seem like you're doing the same thing, it's not. This is, in my opinion, what Akim is getting at. You'll invest your time perfecting a demo, then when you think you're ready, you go live...most likely will crash and burn then a few things will happen such as Frustration and doubt -> revenge trading and wanting to win back your losses further spiraling into more losses. You'll probably get that even if you start trading live now lol...but better to see it sooner than later.

Also, because you built up that confidence on demo. Say you turned 10K into 30K.... you very well might put a larger amount of money into your first live account than you would if you just started now, you don't setup real expectations to grinding an account. If you do a demo account...are you doing it with what you would actually put in? So many factors you don't think of come into play when you actually lose a real live account....

My story. I traded a demo, turned $1,000 into $3,000, mostly from luck, not using stop losses, using positions way to big...said "I'm ready for a live account!".

Put 2K in. Poof! gone. I was putting in 1lot size positions just before FOMC news, see it spike to 40pips, then going... "hold it...hold it....it's going to the moon!" only to see it go -40 pips, then I close it... lol I didn't know what the fuck I was doing... I still don't...but just a little bit less .

Albeit the broker I used was sketchy, and that's another story on its own but, I burned another account, this time 1K. I took a step back, re-evaluated my situation...Thought about it long and hard...Then I put in a much larger amount, said "This is my tuition to learning forex, this is all my tuition I will spend so tread softly..." I made a bunch of sub accounts...took $100 and made a 'micro-beta' account, traded cents. When I felt more comfortable...I doubled it to a total account of $200...when I felt comfortable trading proper position sizing and a few months more... $500.... then $1000....now I'm trading my whole tuition account...trust me, for the first few years (if you last that long) it will most likely be a roller coaster of +'ve & negative net return. A lot of it has to do with your psychology in accepting losses and just as importantly accepting wins (without pride/ego because that'll give back all your profits as quickly as you made it). None of this, you learn through trading fake money. There's a hidden switch in your brain that just knows, and you treat it as such. Next steps for me is to have a scalping account, and a mid-long term account.

In summary, going live now will help you learn to deal with real losses + wins sooner than later. It will force you to take what you're doing more seriously, and also show you at the beginning the growing pains of this craft.

Hope that helps give some other perspective. I know many people will have varying opinions, so to each their own. Most importantly, decide for yourself, because I sure as hell ain't going to trade your money for you, nor should anyone else but yourself. Do your research as to why you should/shouldn't do the thing.

Dude, ryan, i love you dog, but i aint gonna read the whole message, i read the first paragraph and for what i glanced at you just went in depth about what i said on the msg about mentality, ofc the mentality is not the same, it's never gonna be, but its whatever, im done with this topic, i trade on a live acc with small amounts of money with my market structure, and price action and im doing okay there, im using demo to learn akim's strat so yeah. Im fking dying for the market to open, honestly, weekends are so boring since i started forex man, oh my gooooddd...

mentality,emotional and situation will not the same while trading at real money..
i’m not ever trading at demo account since day 1 at my forex trading..
that how i builts my self confidence,courage and petience..
