Same with me buddy . Also had a short up there and closed it fast. And I am still holding some shorts from 29500 even if i'm in big loss. I guess we have to start embracing the risk and define it as a part of the game as Mark Douglas said..

Some great sentiment going on with the thread, one thing I would like to add is the opening of a position, just brief, when all aligns for you to open your trade, if it's short, try to enter on a tick up, I can understand it may have to happen "immediately" but remember, taking the position while rolling will put the spread infront of your open, sometimes not easy to do, but entering while the market is going the other way can be very rewarding, many times I've been "left alone" at the bottom or top because of the rolling entry, now, I see the setup, wait for an opposite tick, then pull, sometimes a few ticks higher/lower (depending on direction) doesn't negate my decision, unless it surges then it would make perfect sense, however, this is another topic in itself.
The mind is a tool that will not compute such activity because of the logic, "its going up but I'm selling" well worth thinking about on your next trade.

You're right that's exactly what my problem is. That's what I'm going to work on starting tomorrow. I have an excel spreadsheet where I write down all my trades with comments, why I got in, why I got out and relevant other comments.
Lots of those comments end on "missed 20 pips" "missed 100 pips" "missed 50 pips" because I closed too early
It adds up to a lot, hopefully I start to improve in this area this week coming

Yeah, i tried running no SL's but realllly small positions, do a grid style trading...saw great results...but when you're wrong, you're wrong. Have to sit on your hands for a period of 1-3 months (and still not knowing if price returns...lol). After I saw 30% draw (realized not floating). I just redefined risk, am scalping momentum (buy/sell), and trying to set up juicier trades off the 4H/D/W using Akim's approach. Keep losses small, at most 1% loss for the day, i'm done, but i try to keep my positions to -0.25% with at least 10-15p SL. That's what's working for me, but my RR isn't the greatest, but good win %, just takes one slip up to turn that 75% win to 60% and so forth though....

here they broke the level .... but according to the correlation with gold I can assume that there is more than 75% chance of further growth ....
