so your "recent" month is the high of 1st Jan right??
which im guessing you mean 28553 on the dow fut, and since we closed 1st Jan at 28548, then basically short with a 5/6 point stop loss by putting stop loss above "Recent" month high of 28553, i guarantee you itll be hit during trading on 2nd Jan.

first of all.... I know you didnt mean "Recent" month to be the month of 1st Jan 2019 since 1st Jan 2019 is a bloody bank holiday everywhere... then you must've meant 31st Dec 2018, and for your sake ive changed the timezone back to market default at Chicago. so is it the December high of 28721 recorded on 27 Dec 2019,
which is just about 170 points away.... is that the stop loss you are talking about for the DOW??

and i've never said im better at everything than any of you, i simply shared an idea to use other methods to better time the market....
and that i dont see a 38.2% correction to the Dow Jones happening anytime soon....

and add to the fact that since he started his thread in July 4th, calling for the end of the US equity market...
it has gone up 5.83% against him....

if the Dow Jones goes up another 40-50% in next 2 years before we see a proper 38.2% correction he'll probably be just breaking even with his shorts.... plus all the costs for selling short the Dow Jones.... carry costs on short Dow sure hurts....

but noooo he had to say 18K Dow Jones is given....

ps. data is not from FRED, its an Eikon Terminal and my company must be ludicrous if they're willing to pay 2000 usd a month for the terminal for me if I was shit at my job.

It's been fun for a while. Igrok has provided some hilarious material to banter about and I think most know how ridiculous his predictions are. Thanks to FXTryant and others for exposing him. Regarding JP his last sexual comment crossed the line and should not be tolerated. I've referred the post to Twee for his consideration. Given the toxic waste dump this thread has become its time to exit stage left. Later!

'Been doing this exercise for the past few years using different time periods with results of "Gold" arrow indicating the long-term highest and "Yellow" arrow long-term lowest. Regardless of time frame results are similar. I will skip explanation as it only engenders arguements. For what it is, I will follow the chart in trading as it rises or eventually falls. The lowest ("Yellow") comes as soon as the global fiat currency system implodes--may take longer than we think, but with a USA POTUS short-fused and less predictable than lightning, it really is anyone's guess.

whatever you're smoking ill have some of that....

not that im a supporter of Trump or anything but one could argue the US has done pretty well during his first term despite his rhetorics....
Low unemployment, ATH on equities.... wages rising.... etc etc..... (hard to believe im saying this.... but hey US has also survived George W. Bush...)
goes to show that the market couldnt care less about politics... and its also evident if you look at Hong Kong....
markets cares more about monetary policy and fiscal policies.
Heck even the Chinese are seen commenting that they'd rather have an idiot as President of the US. simply because despite his unpredictability, hes pretty transparent with what hes thinking by posting on twitter....

the US is likely to have a 8-10% return next year in 2020, as im expecting no further rate cut for the whole of 1H 2020.
Im a bit more interested in Europe with their monetary policy at negative interest rates, 2020 will be the year where Europe will have several challenges. namely how they manage Brexit, how they manage the likes of Italy and the indebtedness of these periphery economies..... with Monetary policy already a gun with depleted bullets, fiscal reformation in Europe is going to be a do or die scenario. and its not going to be pretty..... imagine the europeans getting pissed off with falling wages and rising taxes + retirement age being extended.

with all the negativity and riots and protests... HK's equity market the Hang Seng Index is up 9% in 2019... and HK turned out to be the strongest country raking in the largest amount of capital raised, and 2020 is also going to be a strong year for Hong Kong looking at the IPO pipeline....

you put a socialist like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren (who thinks the banks are still not penalised enough) then the US will definitely be screwed....

And knowing how Michael Bloomberg runs Bloomberg L.P. basically similar to a military camp..... cant believe Sales in Bloomberg still has to clock in and clock out of their office....
