Here's a crossover trade that I took on GBPJPY H4, on the last candle close. A bit in a drawdown for now.

I'm in that trade and I suspect that it may go down about another 100 pips before it reverses up. I've already banked about 80 pips trading it this week.

you are not buying at the best price.

pick the best CROSSOVER bar/candle setup entry when all three oscillators - Stoch(8,3,3), Stoch(14,3,3) amd RSI(14) cross the 50-level within a maximum 2 to 3 bars/candles.

today it loss some steam so we watch the next few days...

1.1107 is current year 2019 Low and BRN 1.1100 not far away to get tested... good location to buy futures.

Ya...it's a nice move. I pulled 2R out of the beginning of it I would consider jumping back on board but I am not keen to give back some of my profits this week.

You don't have to lose sleep just because of trading.
switch to trading 8H charts or trade once every 8 hours and the same end results and can only get better.

the SL in pips does not matter no matter what timeframe you trade.

your risk is in % of your trading capital and it is in $$$$$amount.
your technical SL in pips is your R and use to calculate your trade(s) Position Size. How many smaller trades/positions using that same amount of $$$$$money and where you placed each trade/position is up to you.

but you can't do this with small deposit of say $500. Proven to fail.
Minimum is $10,000 for each currency pair to trade.

With RH simpler Method(10%), you just add your Money Management(30%) and the rest 60% is your Mind ... aka mental fitness of the trader.

Hey Spoof, I am with you; same here.

FYI: I do look at S/R Levels in my trading as well....helps my decision-making but I try not to mention it here, since RobinHood doesn't use it as part of his methodology. I am happy to continue using it, since we are all encouraged to create our own "systems" from his methodology.

Closed my Trade based on Colour Change of 3 Indicators:

  1. HMA
  2. Heiken Ashi; and
  3. Synergy_APB

I actually took the trade 2 days ago on Monday based on the Daily chart. I bailed because the HMA Line turned green and the candles turned Blue/Blue on the 4 Hr. chart. Then, I remembered that I had entered that trade based on a Daily chart so I immediately got back in.

I'm new here and a newbie in forex as well. I need an advice from the veteran's in Fx, I was told it's best to trade price action but I don't really understand what it is trading PRICE ACTION.
These are my questions and I need your help.

1. While comparing the Previous market price and the Current Market price, When, how and what move will I take.. is it a BUY or SELL when the Previous market Price is Lower than the Current Market Price?

2. Uncle Robin Hood, I am officially saying that I want you to be my mentor and I need you to help me with PDF that can furnish my dream to becoming a better FX trader like you do. Thanks for creating this thread, we can all make the world a better place if we learn to love each other by giving hope to those who think they can never profit from Forex trade cos of the huge losses they had incurred.

I don't trade price action anymore because it's just too subjective for me (and because I never made any money trading that way), so I can't help you with that.

At this point, the best advice I can give you right now is to read and re-read Post #1 every day until you thoroughly understand the different ways that we use the indicators.

Then, we can try to help you more, but you must absorb and really understand what's in Post # 1 first.

Hi Flavio

When I looked at your chart above, there was a CROSSOVER setup according to these rules Post#1.

Crossover Trades:

1. The HMA Line is Lime Green and crosses above the Yellow Line for long trades OR the HMA Line and is Deep Pink and crosses below the Yellow Line for short trades.

2. The candles must have just changed from Dodger Blue/Blue to Red/Maroon for short trades or from Red/Maroon to Dodger Blue/Blue for long trades.

3. After both # 1 and # 2 above have occurred, preferably, you want to initiate a trade after the 1st bar has closed on the same side of the Yellow Line as the direction of the trade or on the 2nd or 3rd candle ideally. Entering any later than that is more risky.

4. The trade set-up bar is the 1st candle to cross over the Yellow Line AND is the opposite colors of the previous candles. Both bars must either be: Red/Maroon or Dodger Blue/Blue. Red/Maroon for short trades or Dodger Blue/Blue for long trades. The set-up candle must close before you enter a trade.

5. The 2 Stochastic Lines must be above, or crossing above the Purple 50 Line for longs OR below for shorts.

6. The RSI Line (Brown) must be on the same side of the Purple 50 line as the direction of the trade at the time of entry.

Your SL and TP is R:R 1:1 which means you need a high win rate to be profitable. I usually do not take a trade with R:R 1:1. The minimum potential I want to see is if there is room for a 1:1.5 otherwise I go look for another trade or wait a CONTINUATION. This will work out when the market is ranging. And when the market is trending, then 1:2 will work out in more cases and also there will will opportunities for CONTINUATION trades which are much easier to spot and also add-on to more profits.

This Doug Zalesky' discipline mantra #15 is true and you need to be mentally fit to accept losses.

TSMr crossover H4 long UJ.

Personal discretion: Left chart H4 (stoch slope okay). Right chart D1 (seems same direction as H4, both stoch slope okay, stoch 14 value is 49, rsi 50). Against retracing W1 though (bar is between ema and hull -> not recommended for trade the whole week according to emmanuel7788,), but atm, it is okay as every trade has some risks..

oh i don't trade all pairs, they are there just for me to paper trade as personally MT5 shows nicer bars for APB/HA than MT4 when the bar is enlarged..

The only losses that get my goat are those out of nowhere spikes that take you out and then price just merrily goes back in your favour

Just as you mentioned spikes, my AUDJPY got stopped out by a spike and now move back lower without me. LOL.

It is my dumb money vs the market's smart money.... day in day out....

Can we beat the market's smart money? if YES then How? if NO, then it is simple but not easy.
