my system is simple do swap positive trades , i also do trades with a negative swap but i make sure its a small swap only

I have found this in back testing and the original reason why I stopped using a stop-loss. Most people can't handle the emotional strain of knowing you are in a losing position at bedtime and the fear of waking up with a huge loss. Successful trading is about conquering your emotions. A stop loss is a security blanket.

As Warren Buffet said:

It's not about a system. I traded using various methods, mostly counter trend, with keltner channels and trading 4 hour charts. 4 hour charts are key to me. I got creamed day trading small time frames for years. Just too much chop in my opinion.

3. Distance from SMA at H1 > 150 pips

If it goes up again, use averaging system (buy the same pair again, but double the lots).
Say you buy at 1 lot. If it goes up by 30 points, buy at 2 lot, etc etc at max of 4 purchases

For sell, just invert all the conditions above

there, no stop loss but your profits will be huge

im against sl as well,but i have other way to protect my ac.from burning

i consider sl the biggest conspiracy of trading,the only reason of price movement is to wipe out sl,you cant win a trade which is manipulated.

so drop your sl and start over,figure out things.that you never did before,i believe thats the way to go.

Good, but if you trade oil, gold, other..., be aware that swaps can change sharply, like from +5 to -15 and eat you out of your positions.

you really need a broker with cfd`s on futures, not the cash cfd`s....it will safe you a lot of money if you hold for any length of time.

hi Modris,....if you trade grains, softs, indices, metals etc and hold them for awhile, go for a broker with cfd`s on futures.....they charge no swap on those trades.

No swap would be much better than current swaps mystically calculated by market makers.

You'll need to be mentally sane enough to control your mental SL. Brokers also certainly don't care about SLs from retail traders IMHO.

trading with no stop loss is suicide to say the least, its just huge mistake, trading in general is bad, with no stop loss is worse

Stop losses are just market orders. Admittedly our retail orders are just fodder but it's worth noting once those orders are visible to the bucket shop, other parties can use that information in their own buy/sell calculations - so using SL's is like playing poker with a mirror behind you. And yeah of course the concentrated clusters of market orders will be targeted by the big players - the more they can see, the better probability for whatever result they wanted.

So, deciding whether to use stop losses needs to be part of your own personal risk exposure considerations.
Like others have said on this thread, it is possible to not use them, just the risk calculations are different.

From my experience, stop loss is good to know only where to get out of a trade and not put in an auto otherwise the account will be emptied slowly.
