Ok Pippo, here's the clarification

In your quote you state that the trail stop may of developed a BUG on v51. So I look at the image and I see on the GBPJPY M1 chart that your profit lock is at 219.6 and that your next profit lock move will take place when the basket reaches 267.6 pips. However your MAX pip gain, as seen on that chart, was only 267.0 pips. Which means that your basket has not reached that level by 0.6 pips in order the increment the 219.6 lock to the next level.

So where is the bug? I assumed that the bug you meant was that even though profit moved beyond 267.6 that the EA did not change the profit lock.
So I was asking if you saw the change in the profit lock before profit was taken in that next post where you show the closed basket with profit.

I am real close to completing this project so if this needs to be fixed... lets do it..

I was not referring specifically to the chart shown in the post where I mentioned the trailing concern. My settings for this basket are shown in post#17,819. The last read out (I did not show this, but was watching and saw it as it happened) on display indicated that next recalc would take place at +281(missed by 2 pips with H of+279). The previous recalc was at about +267, a difference of about 14 pips. How was this 14 pips determined?

MT5 EA UPDATE

Folks:
Recently version 12.9 of the CCFP MT5 EA was released. An error was found and has been corrected. The EA was not using the input
"Exclude Pairs or Currencies (EURUSD,AUDUSD,GBP,NZD..."
to disallow those pairs or currencies you listed. I did not add the function like it was added to the MT4 version.

The copy has been updated and is ready for download. Please download the latest copy so u can use that feature.

xm7_Ccfp_Wkly_TradeMonitor_v12.9.ex5

MT4 users no need to do anything. That version does have the function and has been reported to work properly.

Hey eagle welcome.
Just FYI. See that text box that says "=== Notes === "? You can place your "GBP Pairs Only" message in that text box. As long as you use the same magic number the EA will remember and display your note in that box.

Thinking back... About the time profit was nearing 200 pips, I opened properties of EA with intentions to lower BeginLockingProfit value to about 200 pips. Decided to stay the course and did not change anything. Could this opening of properties have fouled up trailing process?

nope, the ea monitors the trail once every second, so opening and closing the properties just may cause a slight delay but that is all

In order to give you more info to work with, will monitor more closely TS in action next trade. I may just be confused, and the TS may be just fine...?

Kewl, and in addition you want to check these two Globals:
xm7_basket_startBasketProfitLock_MAGICNUMBER
xm7_basket_profitlockstop_profit_MAGICNUMBER
Where MAGICNUMBER is the number u entered in the inputs.

You want to check that both of these values do not change or/are deleted when opening and closing the properties.

So just check then BEFORE and then AFTER, they should fairly be the same. The only time you may see a change is if when u close the properties the basket has already reached the next setLock. In which case the number should match the new profitlock settings.

In short if u see them go away or the value DRASTICALLY change then we need to address this.

MT4 EA v52 (Broker: pepperstone)
EA: TP: 10% SL: 8.5%, LotsPerBalance 0.03/500, MaxTrades 8

Profit for TODAY: 0%

No vb trigger today. I am trading the Monday/Wednesday presets again. Decide to do this in order to see if this could combat the recent ranging that we have undergone. Tommorrow I will use the Tuesday Preset. (v19.01). I will be alternating from now the EA presets and indicator versions (v17.01 vs v19.01)

I am interested in trading currency strength and so I came across this thread. I read the first few pages and about the last 300 pages. It was an interesting read. Many thanks to all contributors like Forexpinbar, grandaevus, xmess7, mrdfx, DeathCab and all the others.
I try to find a starting point for me. Let me make a brief summary of the discussion of last 300 pages as far as I understood it:

  1. There is a 2 baskets strategy by yohec which has been profitable during 2018 an Jan/Feb 2019, presented in post #1. The last months it has lost its trace, at least it is not on track than it has been before.
  2. There is a 3x CMSM strategy "invented by DeathCab" that evolved the last months which is still under investigation but has been a little bit weak the last weeks, too.
  3. Then there is the approach of MRDFX which is presented in post #1, too. The outcome has been dissapointing the last 6-8 weeks. Before that it seemed quite staple in 2018. As an addition a Tuesday-setting came up but it is too fresh to have proven successful. And there is a daily and a weekly setup. Daily is not consistent enough, weekly has been weak lately.
  4. Then there are different strategies of different members, some new to forex or at least to this thread, and their track record can not be rendered as successful in the long run or needs further study.
  5. At last there is the negative trigger strategy by yohec which he came across when he analysed his data from 2 baskets strategy. The goal is just to trade the second basket of the 2 baskets strategy, which is a mirror of the 1st basket after it went in the wrong direction at first.

Please tell me if I got the main discussion correct or if I missed a meaningful development. If my summary is not correct or misses important aspects of the last 300 pages then I will read that again. Ohterwise it seems that the negative trigger strategy is the way to go if I want to focus on what to examine first.

I have a similar obersaviton , most weekly baskets in real tests do end up negative.

It is a work in progress , should wait till youuse real money.
