If it doesn’t come down to 111 and close below it on the daily chart, I don’t see any point in selling for the near term

I think that there could be a spike higher to 112.5 in the near term before a pullback

For at least the last 7 years, there hasn't been an Easter/Thanksgiving where the policy tool stock market (and by extension U/J) didn't get pushed up prior to holiday close. Makes sure all family holiday discussions stick the the preapproved narrative.

I expect this year to be no different.

The fact that it is trading quite consistently at a relatively 'high' price, shows that there are plenty of buyers. I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed in an uptrend. It could dive downward after all, but the fact that many expect that shows that it's probably wrong. (Contrarian lol)

The SSI shows most people bearish, so I would like to see a decent swing upward to drain them accounts.

Many thanks - I believe that the big boys are bullish. I've got into this trade the start of the week and it has gone sideways. I'm shorting this and been stuck in it all week. It had a good risk to reward, so I took a punt against the big boys!!!!

There are buyers but the sellers are keeping the lid on the price. Recent economic data suggest that the economy has slowed this year so far. If it continues to slow in the near term, then the bias will shift and the price will come down due to risk-off.

The market may also have priced in the trade deal since there is no bullish price action on good news from the trade talks.

Things are also not good in Japan.

The BOJ faces a dilemma. Years of heavy money printing have dried up market liquidity and hurt commercial banks’ profits, highlighting the rising risks of prolonged easing.
And yet, subdued inflation has left the BOJ well behind its U.S. and European counterparts in dialing back crisis-mode policies, and with a dearth of ammunition to battle any abrupt yen spike that could derail an export-driven economic recovery.

i doubt that the index will come down, i expect a breakout higher and strong sell-off in EUR, AUD, NZD, CAD, and the other exotics

JPY and GBP will likely appreciate

the USD pays interest and is supported by good economic fundamentals, so we can expect the dollar index to appreciate further

Probably right. Makes logical sense. However I'm always aware markets are irrational. + just because there is no 'great' news from the economy just yet, it is still better than a lot of other choices. Money could keep pouring in, and when those dollars go to work we will get good data. One has to follow the other.

Hi, based on the new analysis that you are seeing, we will have a bearish trend in tf h1. Trump attacked the Federal Reserve a short time ago to cut interest rates and also hit the dollar in the weekly tf.
And in the worst case we will see a good correction. And if it's bullish, then we need to fix it before.

Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on the US Federal Reserve by calling for the central bank to cut interest rates.
The US President claimed that the Fed has "really slowed us down" in terms of economic growth, adding that "there's no inflation".
Mr Trump made the comments as data showed a sharp rebound in new jobs growth during March.
US firms added 196,000 jobs last month, compared to 33,000 in February.
Mr Trump said: "I think they should drop rates and get rid of quantitative tightening. You would see a rocket ship."
The Fed has raised interest rates four times since Jerome Powell took over as chairman in February last year.
Mr Powell was appointed by Mr Trump but the president has frequently criticised the Fed chairman for increasing rates.
The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week that Mr Trump told Mr Powell in a recent phone call: "I guess I'm stuck with you
