All of you GBPUSD shorts be wary. I understand that this Mouteki system has produced a signal but If everyone can see it, you should be even more mary. Plot a 7 period RSI on the 4 hour charts and you will see a positive reversal is forming which can shoot the GBPUSD up to the 1.8800 region. if any 4 hour bar top is taken out until price comes below 1.8607 a move north will start to look more likely - For me that current level is 1.8694 with the spread already taken into account. Not trying to give advice, I suck at this, just issuing a word of caution.

well, i dont trade mouteki, i use other indicators for my trading. but you´re right that it will go up but not very high i think. as i said before wait for the high then comes the reversal for this week and the next maybe and from there it´s long.

if u look at the 1hr chart youll noticed price formed a broadening bottom pattern sorta shaped like a megaphone going out.. it broke out wen it passed the 8690 level but couldnt hold the new high it made a second attempt to break higher leading to macd divergence on hourly and now we have the slight drop off - this takes us back into the pattern. The low base of this pattern is the 8530 level... will try to show a chart of this.

Here is the actual chart of what im talking about. Note there is a strong resistance hammer further back a bit on this chart from the NFP report that just past...

on the dailys, I also have a broader move down to the 1.8325 area, whearas my signal on the weeklys up to the dec 2004 high would still remain intact. I am currently short the pair right now, but if a swing low in the 4 hour charts occurs anytime soon, I will be forced to either close out or reverse my position. Most likely I would just close out being that I trade off of a 400 tick chart and I dont see any long signal on it as of yet. I want my trades to have consistent profit and loss levels in order to allow the statistal probabilities move in my favor. If I had a larger initial capital, I would most likely be trading these higher time frame setups, but since I dont, I will have to make due until then.


I wish I could upload a pic from Tradestation, but i't says that the file is too large, anyone know how to work around this?

I will also lock in profits if a swing low occurs, ie 200 to 300 pips.. use microsoft paint to edit the pic and make it smaller thats what I did to post also save as gif...

Well Wallboroff, you have admitted it. Ok, I really really love hearing everyone's opinion about what they think, but like Angler said, this IS the Mouteki thread. You probably got in here by mistake... Maybe, post your other opinions to the gbp/usd thread???

Of course I am not the moderator or person in control, just letting you know this IS the Mouteki thread and for people trading the Mouteki method...

I think it's fair to say the pretty much every strategy will fail when a signal is produced 30mins before really bad data comes out.

I'm merely an 'observer' of this strat & not actually executing any of it's signals, but from my observations Cable is still in a recent "long" position according to the rules?

like I say, I'm not totally sure it contains any time based scratch parameters, if not, then it triggered long & you're merely awaiting full cash out to target, or fall-out to a +10 stop above entry??

of the 'long' entries thus far from this temp? floor, I guess you'd still be in the + column.......

swinging totally blind on any system (without due care & diligence) will be akin to tossing a coin imo, but the structure of this strat is built on sound principles - utilizing near term supply-demand.......

certainly has the potential to wrap a workable strategy around it's basic principles!

If anything this is an excellent example of the use of filters... The two most basic filters of, beating the previous candle by a pip & understanding news drivers would have kept you out of this trade.

You short something you were already long on because you realise that your long is not long enough and short is the right way to go. So you axe your long, do a stop-and-reverse and go short.

I don't dispute your absolute, rigid based rule adherance.....

which is why I don't trade these types of "systems"......and as you've rightly poined out, adhering to the exact laws of the entry template, it would have gotten you short......

again, this is where they'll fall down......the fact that it triggered you long thru c8615 on price flow & hasn't compromized that flow as yet - would be pointless to switch sides & short it, specially given you're still to the + side on the long.......

I guess it's a case of agreeing to disagree...........
