Just back from a short holiday ... see a lot has happened since been away. FXC comes up with another thread/method. Plus he gets designated as commercial!

I will take a while to catch up and answer any posts that need answering here in this thread very soon.

Hope people are having good success with the indicator?

Picture perfect setup and price movements after the first signal, however, that trade would have been taken AGAINST the trend.

In my opinion, there are SIGNIFICANT subjective elements to consider to make FXC's strategy profitable, e.g. "trend", "consolidation"/"accumulation".

Should we be able to translate these subjective elements into programmable algorithms (i.e. to code them into an EA), then, and only then, this strategy has a fighting chance to become consistently profitable for 95% of the traders.

(By the way, we are yet to see a MyFxBook verified account showing that this strategy can be profitable even for the "elite" 5% of traders, like FXC himself... It is easy to post "showcase" screenshots of setups which have worked out OK and to forget about those which have not.)

I want to take the opportunity to thank Freefox for the time he put up to make this EA! I myself have very mixed results though but that could be an error on my end, I would love to hear from other members.

I am sure you are not alone. I don't think that there are too many people who have been profitable with it just by sticking to the rules.

Just imagine the millions of dollars hedge funds have invested in quantum computers and hiring the best experts from MIT to program them...

Nevertheless, in spite of having the best computers on Earth and having the best mathematicians/statisticians on payroll, not these brain centers, but FXC is the one who comes up with a stable profitable strategy published on ForexFactory free of charge... What are the chances...?! Seriously...!

I have to say this thread has brought some refreshing sanity from the chaos in trying to trade what appears to be a profitable method using the 3 bar setup. Big thanks to Freefox for sharing the indicator and NevFX for the golden nuggets of your trading ideas and trades. I hope this thread can grow because I can see the potential here to increase in knowledge faster than elsewhere. Of course Thanks has to go also to FXCyborg for sharing his methods.

There is nothing you PM'd me that was really private.

As I've mentioned before I am not looking at this time to expand this indicator to incorporate other patterns nor add the other methods FXC as added since his initial thread. It is staying true to the initial method.

I haven't read the whole of the other thread but there are mixed responses to those other methods for one and not something I have any desire to incorporate into my own trading style. Plus time is a factor - I have other ideas that I would like to develop.

I think you are generally right in your assessment here, though I wouldn't call it 'subjective' per se , but bringing a trader's full experience and knowledge to the table to allow assessment of each signal and potential trade. I have managed to incorporate the 3-bar setup into my existing trading methodology with some success. But I have years of experience in getting to that point and it just adds to my existing trade selection methodology. I even posted up some live trades earlier in this thread that ending up profitable showing my confidence in the methodology in advance of knowing how the trade would work out.

But in the end, as per my opening post people have to use their trading 'brain' and existing experience in knowing what signals to trade from.

Very true, Freefox! I call "subjective" in this context what simply cannot be programmed into an EA or algorithm, although I am aware of the fact that the process behind successful "subjective" trading decisions is NOT entirely "subjective". Usually it comes down to the "10,000-Hour Rule" what Malcolm Gladwell describes in his excellent book, the "Outliers: The Story of Success".

As you have summarized it very well: "People have to use their trading 'brain' and existing experience in knowing what signals to trade from."

Gentlemen and Ladies too. I have read your comments and I don't agree with your description of FXCyborg. I have traded his methods since the beginning here on FF. I now am an avid participant on his new Discord channel. His methods are solid and have changed my trading life. The same can be said for many others on the forum. You can say what you want about MIT slugs all you want. As far as I am concerned, they are Ivy League Posers. And Trust me on this as I know a few of them. Many of them still live in Mommy's basement. Freefox, I think you are a good guy who is very sincere and gentlemanly in how you conduct yourself. I am sorry that things worked as they did when Cyborg became very angry with you. I think his behavior was a bit over the top with you. You 2 working together could have really created some good things in my opinion. Sorry for that. As far as your indicator goes, I love it. I have it running all day in my office on the 30 minute charts. When that little alarm goes off, I quickly check the pair and act accordingly. Thank you for creating this gem. I only wish you would create one for his Method 2 setup. As a matter of fact I might spend money for that one. The setups are fewer than the M1 setups. I havent traded Cyborg's M3 setup but there are plenty of people on Discord who are doing nicely with that one too. One of the things that Cyborg require of his Discord subscribers is that at the end of each week we have to post our pip winnings for the week. We then Have to prove the results with one of the MT4 indie to show pip count. I use and post my performance from Myfxbook.com. We can only use his Methods on the forum. The only problem with Cyborg's setups will happen if you do not trade with the trend and if you sell into support or buy into resistance. Thats it. Last Thurs during Asia session at around 8:00 cst, I found 12 setups. I was in shock. I have never found much good about Asia session except a good nap. Of those setups 9 were winners. Of the other 3. one was a buy into resistance and the other was against the trend. The third trade I am still in as it was taken on a higher timeframe. Don't know what else to say. I am happy to provide to anyone the 12 Thursday night setups for their perusal. Also I want to post my performance curve from my trading from Cyborg's setups. I started with him about the middle of February and am there as of today. I got up to speed on his Methods at the end of February and all of this month. You can judge for yourself my results after you see what I was able to do, And I am just getting started. I wish all of you the very best in trading. As for me. I can't wait until Sunday night. ATB as Cyborg would say.

I write trades as I see possible setups on a sticky note with my own shorthand style. First comes the pair followed by time frame.Next is what the setup method number is. Then I put an arrow up or down for Long or Short. The stars after that information were the winners. and I have described the losers. I have written the date and the time that I did the scan for the setups. If you are so inclined, you can go check the chart setups and performance for yourself. Of course you would probably want to be familiar with the setups. We here are privy to M! setups vis Freefox Indicator. They were the bulk of my setups. I was not using the indicator when I found these setup. I have to keep my eyes sharp to spot them on the fly. Thanks for reading. Good trades to all. I am posting my original sticky note with the setups.

You will be surprised mate, some of the oldest recipes in the cook book still taste the best. I’ve worked for banks before and their permanents are only there for a pay check.
An example is Deutsche Bank.
With all their systems they still got smashed in the equities market.

have a question for you guys. how are you going about monitoring many pairs and time frames? do you have many pairs up in say a 30 or 15 min frame, wait for a signal/alert, switch to lower tf and wait for a setup there? can someone share the indy they are using to quickly change pairs? how many screens are you using for this? i do not have time restrictions as we are under complete lockdown here.

{quote} I was going to leave things but when FXC posts stuff like this (and other unnecessary criticisms against other people contributing to this thread), then I have to respond when he starts to get personal with this and other untruthful posts .... Firstly, I sent you a very long detailed private message. Would you like me to screenshot/video that and post it here for everyone to see and they judge for themselves the motives and intentions of us both and what went on previously. I have nothing to hide - my intentions from the start were entirely...

Could you make it run intra bar at mt2iq ?
MT2iq file can't read your indicator to get signal of arrow .
I don't know why could you check it and fix it .
