Looking for this indicator: alert once everytime when current price equal high/low of current bar. Different sound when current price is high and low. Applies on all TF charts. Even better if it has and e-mail notification alert. Searched for days but never come across this useful feature, so I hope experts can be kind to code one for us, thank you in advance.

Usage: Notify when any major moves occurs (use it on 4H, Daily, weekly charts it will work wonders especially to detect initial move/volatility, u know what i mean?)

Just made this one... It sends an email when today chart (any) crosses yesterdays highs and lows, either way, everyway, everytime ...

It only sends one email per hour... but you can easily remove that feature.

It's not exactly what you wanted... but maybe you can make one yourself! hehe

appreciate your effort but indicator cannot be added into charts, have you tested it already? so sorry it doesn't seem to work. Hope you can manage to fix it, looking forward to test it soon.
Sorry... this is actually an EA. Afaik indicators can't send emails...

It works.. but the 1 hour email warning is a bit slow.. and you will miss on some opportunities. Will fix later today...

But I'll try to make this an indicator if I have the time later.

indicators can sendmail, no problem.
thanks for the prompt update, if any coder can be kind to code, i wish to request for an indicator which alert sound whenever price is the high/low of current candle, no matter which tf we look at. this is very useful for volatility breakout and more. hope to hear good news from you guys.
Hi did you get any luck with this indicator alert.
Basically im looking for something similar;

I need a indicator that alerts/emails me when the the price of the current candle exceeds the previous candle by 1 pip Basically a break of the previous candle. (on 4 hour chart - but if it works on all time frames thats a bonus).
Also If the indicator can select alerts only for breakouts to the up (bull market) only or down (bear market) only that would be perfect.

Just to clarify what I need,

A indicator which sends an email once the price passes above or below the previous candle. It could be used on any time frame though I prefer 30 minute timeframe.

Price doesn't have to close above or below the previous candle, just exceeds (during any time of the current candle) hi or low of the previous candle.

Would be ideal if you can add a buffer where you nominate amount of pips such amount to cover the spread. This should be optional.

Even better would be a EA which automatically enters and exits a trade for you as soon as price passes the high or low of the previous candle. Example, if you are in a sell position, once the price goes above the high of the most recent previous candle, the short order takes frofit and automatically enters you in a buy position. A stop loss would be automatically placed at the lowest point of the previous candle. And visa versa. If you are on a run in a buy position, once the price drops below the most recent candles lowest point, the ea closes your long position and takes profit at the same time places you at a sell position immediately with the stop now at the highest point of the previous candle of which the lowest point was taken out.

Once I can get either of these, I will test it out and share with you which pair and time frame to use it on.
So far manually trading has been very profitable for me.

I am just starting to learn about coding and seeing that there have been no replies, this seemed like a good project.
Please try it out, but only on Demo.
It will work on the chart and timeframe that you attach it to.
It will work on multi pairs, just open different charts for pairs on your platform and attach the EA to each one. Do not attach the EA to the same pair in different time-frames.
If you open trades manually and the EA signals a trade in the opposite direction, it will close your manual trade.
So it is best to test this on a demo account with no other EAs working, only one chart for each pair.

Email alerts, I cannot do yet

At the moment Inputs are
LotSize set at 0.1 but you can change it.
I have amended the EA, so that the Lot size will be worked out according to % risk per trade, but as it is the weekend now, I haven't been able to test it at all yet. So for now, lot size will be the same for all trades.
TakeProfit is the amount in pips to take profit. If you prefer to let the modification of the StopLoss exit trades, just input a very high figure
ExceedBy is the amount in pips that price must break the high or low of the previous bar before opening a trade.
MaxSpread.... If the current spread in pips exceeds this, no new trades will be opened. Existing trades may be closed though.
Pip is 1 pip expressed as a decimal. Ie on EURUSD it will be 0.0001. On JPY pairs it may be 0.01
MinBarPips is the minimum range of the previous bar to be taken into account. If the previous bar's range is less than this, it will be ignored
The reason for this is because if the bar has a very small range, price could break above and below it many times in the next bar. This could result in a lot of trades being opened and closed in opposite directions. If the previous bar's range is below MinBarPips, StopLosses will not be modified on any open trades.
MaxGapPips, This is in case price suddenly takes off in one direction. If the current price is a break above or below the previous bar's high/low by too much, it will not enter a trade. If price subsequently retraces during the same candle and is still above/below the high/low of the previous bar, it will enter the trade.

Could this MaxGapPips be turned off? Because its ideal if price suddenly takes off in one direction what I am trying to achieve is Instant entry at break, retrace has no role in this system I'm trialing.

And just to clarify, how have you created the stop loss in this EA does the stop loss automatically follow the low or hi (depending on the trade direction) of the previous candle? So when a new candle opens (depending on what time frame you have the ea placed) the stopp loss moves to a new position which is the candle that just closed.

Hi,
MaxGapPips would have to be removed from the code as it cannot be turned off. You could just set it impossibly high, maybe 100 pips.
Be warned though, sometimes there can be large gaps in price between ticks. This could be due to losing your internet connection for a while, a normal gap up/down or when price makes sudden moves.
At news times, price can jump 50 pips in one tick, so a trade may be entered at a much higher or lower price than you expect.
When price is moving very rapidly, there is no guarantee that an order will be filled at the price and the EA will keep trying to re-enter at ask/bid until it is filled. I've only included a slippage allowance of 1 pip in the code. I could amend the EA and allow slippage to be input by the user.

Yes, the stoploss will automatically adjust when a new candle opens. If you are in a long trade, when a new candle opens, the SL will be adjusted to the previous candle's low minus whatever you have input to ExceedBy. (and Vice-verse). The exception to this is when the previous bar is smaller than MinBarPips.

i will let you know once I test it tomorrow. This system has been very good for me while I was trading manually but missed a lot of trades which would have worked out if I was on the computer during every half hour candle which is hard.

There is one other point I forgot to mention. I discovered the last two hours of New York and the first half hour of Asian session is no good. This is where those gaps occur and crazy movements happen. So if this EA can have a disable period added where you can impute a time depending on your server platform time, it would eliminate this what I call Junk time.
Funnily enough, adding sessions was the next thing that I was going to try to learn about
What would you want it to do with any open trades when it enters the "Junk time" ?

I've now completed version 2 which will enter trades with lot size that risk a % of equity instead of fixed lot sizes. I will give it a short test when the market opens tomorrow to see if it works the way that it should.

Regarding open trades, set it to close any active trade once the trading kicks in the suspend mode
Just to clarify things. If its possible, I don't want the EA to be suspended a whole session. Just at the start of the last hour of the New York session and comes back on after the close of the first hour of the Asian session.

Also could you help me out with the settings on this certain pair.
It's the Gold XAU/USD
The way the decimal is expressed as follows (which is current as I type) 1389.90
So in the settings next to the Pip feature, do I put it on 0.01
ok....here is the first issue. EA entered me in a short trade. The stop loss trailed down to the previous high correctly. i was stopped out indicated by the red line on the below chart. But, i should have been instantly entered in a long position (indicated by the blue line on the chart below) once the short trade was stopped. Which never happened so i have no trade going at the moment.

i am wandering if it has to do with the bid and ask price (spread) the cause of one trade closing and the opposite direction not opening? currently my price display is the Bid price. one way to overcome this issue is to have pending orders for long position at price minus the spread which should bring back the order back to the ask price. i hope it makes sense.

ps: as i was typing another movement occured as you can see the last candle on the chart. price dropped but the ea did not enter me in a trade which should have been at the lowest point of that dodgie looking second last candle.

i wander if i have my settings correct, could you check please.

Hi Macedonia.

I see that you have set Pip at 0.01
That means that you consider 1 pip to be a 1 cent move in the price
I'm actually surprised that any trades were opened because you have MaxSpread set at 5, ie 5 cents difference between bid and ask price.
The spread with my broker is never less than 50 cents.
So unless your broker has a very small spread, it seems that there may be a glitch with MaxSpread.
Different people have different ideas of what a pip is worth with gold.

If Gold moves from 1389.70 to 1389.90 do you consider that to be a 2 pip or a 20 pip move?
If you consider it to be 20 pips, then you will set the pip value at 0.01 because you are using both of the digits after the decimal
If you consider it to be 2 pips, then you will set the pip value at 0.1 because you are using only 1 of the digits after the decimal

Because of the small dodgy candle, only spanning about 60 cents, the SL would be too close to the price as it was
If you look in the journal tab, you should see that it tried to enter a trade, but failed because of invalid SL
