they are not an "introducing broker", profitfarmer,

however, they clearly advertise brokers.

Look on your left and right,

all ads from bucket shops.

Right I've pieced together from memory what happened with Babypips.com now.

2008, when I started taking an interest in Forex - Babypips peak daily online users - 150.

2010, it's growing - daily peak users 250 or so.

ICT joins Babpypips and starts a thread called 'What every aspiring trader still wants to know' - be it any good or not is not relevant, what is, is that it's extremely popular, traffic grows massively, there are 3 or 4 useful threads on there, all grow massively.

2012 daily peak users 1000+, trolls are attacking ICT, that's the main target, ICT gets fed up and leaves, trolls start picking on the other threads, I leave completely with large number of users.

2014 daily peak users 200 or so.

2018 - just take a look it's a bit like a graveyard compared to what it once was before the trolls ruined it, I don't think there's anything there for the trolls to bother with even.

So.……….. will here end up the same way?

Other examples in other fields.
Facebook, check out their share price, it's been hammered due to lack of bad content control.
TripAdvisor - losing credibility and users due to lack of control of bad review wars.

Understand:


ALL that ppl do here on the site,

whether it is discussing trading strategies, EAs, trading topics, indicators etc etc. will ultimately result in these retail traders to

OPEN AN ACCOUNT AND TO TRADE.

This website is NOT saying "go to this or that broker", but they put the brokers' ads in front of your nose;

so that you just need to do a click to get started.

And many FEEL that because such BUCKET SHOPS are allowed to advertise on a website like that, that therefore there would be some kind of quality stamp.

Guess what, NO THERE IS NOT!

That is why the site clearly states that they are NOT introducing.


Now here is what the brokers do;

they run STATISTICS on how many factory users open and trade with them. They also know EXACTLY what the "conversion rate" and "burn rate" is.


So is the factory doing anything illegal? NO!

But do they work for TRADERS? NO!

Then again, do traders pay the factory? NO!

Think about all that. Then think again.

I predict that because the factory decided (or was MAYBE FORCED) to shoot down this thread, their traffic curve will go SOUTH again.

It's not just about traffic though, it's clickthu, you can have a million users a day, but if they aren't clicking the ads, that's no good, it's just a liability.

Normally with a site, you'd increase high quality traffic to click on higher quality and more profitable ads.

But with forex, the higher quality users are aware that bucket shops are dodgy, and at best will limit your profits, just like a gambling site.

So there's the paradox, the better the site, it's not necessarily more profitable, BUT short term gains will leads to lower sustainability, so the forum's dilemma will be, take £100 now or £5 a week for the rest of the year, and it looks like that £100 is too tempting at the moment.

it is banner ads, you pay to display your banner.
the clickthru part is an aftermath, where you can decide it worth for it, and want to renew or not.

however, remember that very simple fact: manipulation or not, your only way to trade is via a broker!! some case, like USA, Canada via officially very limited choice.
interesting you mention gambling.
i am for a while tell friends, in forex, you can legally count your cards. and unlike at a blackjack table, the broker in fact can make money on you even if you are a winning trader, bcos they have a commission from you that wont go away.
if you arent a toxic order flow, and fading fake breakouts/stop runs, and such doesnt make you one, you are safe to play your game.

nowadays, many broker work with a hybrid book system; they can easily decide after a while which book you are placed, in fact can do on the fly.

Some limits have been exceeded and when that happens I can not agree.
And most important I do not think or do for what others say or do (this is for both sides) ... I´m (I think) on my own.

There's nothing wrong with changing our opinions or apologizing for acts or things we've done ... it's called evolution.
On the contrary when we continue to hit the same key for no reason at all and only because of our ego/pride ... it's called stupidity (it´s when the index finger can be a solution)
