Hi Iddd

How do you get any benefit from trading with a live account on a small lot size straight away. Please explain.
You are trading WITHOUT a plan, no idea on the strategy's profit factor, no idea about an acceptable draw back figure, no idea on which pairs to trade,
no idea on how this strategy handles different market types, no idea on how to trade with different lot sizes at the correct time with TMS.

You're just trading with hope. You will join the club of impatience traders with no clue how to trade this strategy just to become road kill for the brokers.

Started straight away on live account. Never looked back. (Blow three accounts learning)
Agree with Iddd that demo gives false expectation to a trader, after all it is not your money. Reality (raw emotions) that you never had comes into play with a live market.
- How do you trade with a plan? The market does not care what your plan is.
- Where in this 91 000 plus post thread is there any indication what this strategy profit factor is. Emmanuel post profit factor between 1.00 and 1.20. The same as what I got learning. Now backtesting gives a profit factor between 2 and 4. How well does a trader understand TMS will determine the profit factor.
- What is a acceptable draw back figure? Every trader risk tolerance is different. (Look at the chart's what Chenzo and Emmanuel post.)
- How TMS handle market type's will depend on how well the trader understand TDI green, Poste#647 + S/R.
- What is the correct time for TMS? BigE's trading houers or green angle above / below 1 / 5 (or 2 / 4) or the hours he like to trade.

Every trade is a gambly. How many times irrespective the method in use, did the price make a about turn on entry against all "method rules". S/R level do get broken, many times, there is no pull back on a big bar (price just keep going on and on). Patterns are ignored by price. There is no certainty in this business. Every trade is placed with hope, expectation that you have read the chart correctly, price will "öbey" your method rules.

Iddd does benefit straight away with a live account. The benefit can not be measured in profit. It is has far more value, what no money can buy. That is because he is learning to control his emotions, costly mistakes made with his own hard earned money will not be easy forgotten. Learning on a live account is and never will be the same as learning with a demo account.

Rick, i donīt think i have to explain the benefits over trading a demo account vs trading a live account to you. Itīs just my personal opinion that demo trading is a huge waste of time if you think you can duplicate such results as soon as you start trading with your own equity. Where emotions come in. Thats all i wanted to say here, nothing more

I have mentioned here before that I not only trade the TMS/TDI strategy. I first got to know this strategy in 2014 and tried it my self but actually could not not actively trade it since then because i was highly involved in a lot of other projects outside of trading. But i am into the trading world for almost 15 years now. A few years before i joined this Forum.

However most of the time not actively trading manually and therefor far away from beeing a "professional" whats ever this means. So i came here 3 years ago where i first was reading about BigEīs TMS strategy. I still have not even read through everything of BigEīs posts here. Itīs quiet time consuming.

I like the original approach this strategy comes with otherwise i wouldnīt be here. I am aware of the fact it requires some kind of trading plan to be successfull in the long run trading it manually. The biggest challenge to me with the TMS right now is to reduce TDI cross signals without the need to jump on H4 or higher, not sure if this is possible at all. I also try to get a better understanding/knowledge about trading basics so i might be able to see "some" of the bad entries my self in the future

Otherwise i am doing fine for years with trading a martin gale similar (its not martin gale) automated system on a quiet cheap root server since 2010 (almost 9 years). With a contant ROI of 3% monthly average and highest drawdown of 6.9%. And no this one is not for sale, its also not completely automated, some trades are closed manually from time to time by my self.

And yes, i also blowed up several real accounts and paid a lot of learning money in the last decade. But still never traded any demo account for more than a week. Sure i posted some demo charts here (oh hell no..). If i take any demo trades itīs only because of my real brokers account does not provide the market or i simply want to test out something quick and dirty without ruining my live accounts history.

I am still waiting to see any more automatic approach here trading the TMS. Should give at least 50% p.a with no higher draw down than 35% otherwise i would see no reason why i should invest serious money here in yet another EA, because i already have this. But i could not find 1 automatic system based on the TDI until now which has been tested and traded under live conditions for 1+ year, giving what ever results. So i guess, this is hard to automate.

Just hope to find something to filter out more of the noise on the the M15-H1 because for H4+ i simply have no will to put in the time watching such trades run over days and setting high stop losses. I am probably just no swing or longer term trader fo sure, thats what i at least learned so far..

Go Have some fun , seems nothing has changed here. If you have blown three accounts or keep loosing money quit as this trade is not for you. Even worse following people who never made it..

Not all trades are pretty. Sometimes you read candles and S/D but smart money continues to move price how they want. Money management comes in to play and also knowing where your levels are to close a trade.

How many traders here would show them in a bad spot? None.

If they wont show winning trades they definitely wont show a trade where they are losing.

DD is part of trading. Sometimes its very little and other times you have to deal with it. We never know exactly how price will move. We make the best of it with what we know.

I am certain this will turn around but I could be wrong and will have to close with a loss if price breaks over 82.50

Trading is always a gamble. The goal is having more winners than losers and that's what I'm all about.

I wanted to post this so you see I don't only post winning trades, pips or %

These were trades from last week and 1 from today. All other trades from last week closed in profit.

Hi Tekkies

My point is new traders here should trade demo for a few months to formulate a trading plan on how we are going to trade TMS.
Some pairs will never work with TMS - Do you know which pairs to trade.
Some market types do not work with TMS - Can we trade TMS in a ranging market.
Some strategy's just aren't that profitable and have a low profit strategy - Where does TMS sit next to other strategy's.
What is a acceptable draw back figure with TMS - That's your call but anything over 15% requires a skillful technician.

Trading Live and not blowing your first account is very rare. What a waste of money.

Pin bars and shooting stars on daily and 4HR. Price momentum seems exhausted. 61.8% reached. Look at second chart I posted. Large candles with strong momentum and after those smaller candles and bullish rejection bars. Chances of reversal are high.

The goal to most traders is to stay profitable in the long run Chenzo. You can achieve this in a lot of different ways. One good way is to use a proper risk reward ratio for all your trades. Therefor you donīt need to have a good win ratio. Itīs a widespread misbelief people think they need to win 60, 70, 80 or even 90% of the time to make money.

Lets say you trade 10 years with only 30% winners compared to 70% losers. People might call you a bad trader. Well who cares if you still end up with a profit? Which is why 95% of the retail traders blow up their accounts in less than 3 month. Not because they might be bad traders, but because they suck in managing risk and money at all. And dealing desk brokers whoīs biggest income stream comes from clients who lose therefor are highly interested in keep advertising you the dream of the get rich quick day trading myth in all way, offering as much as high leverage theyīre allowed to give their clients.

Otherwise itīs just a matter of equity + risk/reward that will keep you profitable in the long run. Its actually really simple. Basic maths. Casino like other business owners know about the fact they’re going to lose money on some customers, it’s the cost of doing business. But they also know that by the end of the year, they’ll turn a profit because the odds are stacked in their favor. They seee it as a business over a longer period of time and calculate their loss right, because this is all they can "predict". Same with trading, you cannot calculate your next big pips gain or how much much money you will make. But you can calculate your next big loss or how much money you will accept to lose overall.

I see you have the Daily Timeframe and use the exact rules from the first pages of this thread.

I am experimenting with a dashboard on 1 hour TF and try to get a picture of the DD. None of them goes into profit from the start.

Do you trade life?
Do you trade Daily only?
Are there Pairs you trade mainly?

What do you think about whatīs discussed in the video seminar by Mark Douglas in the second video (2 of 4) starting at around minute 18? Where he explains that the trading methodology needs to have an edge defined by an overall higher percentage win rate for a series of trades, and how does it apply regarding to TMS?

Whatīs the percentage win rate for lets say an H4 chart with the TMS? Has this been ever backtested by BigE, you or anyone else here over a long time period? I mean by taking each TDI signal cross in every possible market condition leaving the "basics" out. And if its only 50% of less like 50 trades out of 100 possible TDI crossover signals the H4 chart will give to you are winners, how do you otherwise realize an edge here?

So if this edge can be only defined by the "x" factor because of the trader is manually estimating all the basics correctly after each new TDI Signal you could actually never ever objectively come to the conclusion this strategy will "work". Because what it makes it work in this case is purely up to the traders decision/analyse.

So trader A might take the trade for a TDI crossover signal because he "believes" price is in a trending condition and spotted all technical other things correctly like SR and he wins on this trade. But trader B takes a TDI crossover signal where price is ranging and he probably spots SR and other things completely wrong and his trade will be a nice loss. So where is this edge here?

I mean if there is no 100% pure mathematical edge a strategy can provide to you like more signals will be winners instead of losers i would say such strategy will not give you any advantage.

Because then you could just trade a naked chart (no indicators). It would not make anything more "simple" or saves you a lot of time because you cannot rely on the signals no matter what you analyse on a trade by trade base, where you do your manually technical analyse again for each new TDI crossover signal you will receive.

I hope you understand what i am trying to say.
