Are you using EA from this thread or something else?
The problem of all grid EA is when you get very very big trend against you than you will blow the account.
There is no solution to that.

If you are for example in a sell grid and suddenly you face a huge bullish trend you will blow the account.
And that can happen at any time.
How you can say grid is good in trending market?
If your grid EA can resist for example 1000 pips spike than you can use otherwise soon or later you will blow the account.

Can you share a copy of your EA so we can test over strong trends to verify my hypothesis?

If you are using that one I agree with but really that one is not a classical grid system.
However good for you if you are having success with it

im backtesting the ea mgrid in gbpjpy . very slow. i noticed reading the code that
the ea when closes market orders dont delete any pending order. dont know if this is a bug or not.
anyway i want to program a version without pending but only market orders to see if it works the same way.
dont know if my broker has a limit of n. orders opened or pending but someone in this tread
told that he needed a version without pending orders. I will try to make one.
good luck to all using this ea.

Hello guys

Did you ever tried to verify the logic on paper?
I read the nice explanation given by Hanover on post #7 #8 but something is not right.

1) Let assume the initial 3 buys+3sells pending are placed with 1 lot each (it's just an example).
2) let assume now all 3 grid levels of sells are triggered.
3) how many pending buys you will have above on the 3 grid levels of buys?

I tested a bit this EA and run into a nice ranging market.
After 4 times shift between buys & sells grid levels there were 6+42+84 buy pending orders to be filled.
Likely hit TP before all that buys orders were triggered.

Even this EA is very very very risky if you face long ranging markets.
I also noticed not always comes out with profit. Sometimes after a cycle you have less money.
