Iddd, have you consider that the approaching FOMC might be responsible for how price's is behaving on all pair's. Everybody got the jitters about FOMC and that is reflected in price movement.

I would be more happy with Draghi speaking every hour 5 days / week. So at least there would be some MOVEMENT in forex markets. Just bad luck i am on the wrong side of the line for my open trades...

Reminds me on my thoughts earlier this day i already wanted to say but forget about again.

"How can you trade a trend-following strategy like this one, if the intraday trend in forex means 20-30 Pips little micro swings while 90% of the rest of the time it ranges by a few little pips".

Maybe there are better markets to trade this strategy doesnīt makes you fall into sleeping mode while watching charts not moving...

Seems like the news volatility is fading out. I am still short on both the AU and GU, praying to get back to break even hah.

Maybe manually day trading is nothing for me. Should really think about switching completely to the Daily or at least H4. You see how LUCKY it is to hit your profit targets by trading M15 or even H1? Most times of the week it not even moves there or you would have to hit THAT PERFECT PERFECT A++ Setup .

How is the chance you get this more often instead of missing it? Its really not much difference than flipping a coin...

Like said most of the times everything in forex seems to go sideways and waiting for some central bank whores to step in front of the microphone before anything finally moves a 50 Pips to hit your TP/SL.

You will always lose trading this strategy no matter what timeframe you trade. Simple as that. That's why the "professional traders" who trade tms can't post results. They don't have any to speak of trading TMS. Now they trade EAs and post garbage.

Save your time and money and trade something else even if you sound like a complete jack A$$ and newbie.

On the 4h chart showing the 1 loser... on a 5 0r 15 minute it would have been a loser but on the 4h chart you would have actually made about 30 pips...

Your S/L question... On your 5 & 15 minute charts... place your S/L 3-5 pips away from the previous hi or low on your chart. You will rarely ever get stopped out that way so don't worry about how many pips away that is... 5 & 15 m charts are for Gladiators because the brokers take most of those traders to the meat market as road kill... and that's why I prefer not trading those timeframes... I got tired of the horses dragging me from the arena...

What trade exactly do you refer to here? I was able to close both my M15 short trades in profit (which were already running 30 pips against me each).

That AUD/USD H1 short trade i took (entry on TDI crossover M15) now looks like this

Now for the AUS/USD short i took i was looking at the H1 as well as H4 and Daily before i entered on M15. So this trade probably just spiked up because of Draghi was speaking. It keeps heading down now. So actually a poor exit again, however i was happy to close it with at least no loss here after that News i missed (should not even entered on it).

Regarding the GBP/USD trade, well i took the M15 TDI crossover without looking at the H1 or Daily. So no entry at all here. Just lucky to managed getting this one closed to in profit too.

But the main problem remains to me.

Either:

- to find a programmatic way to filter out 8/10 M15 signals i could set up alerts for keeping me away from looking to the charts every 15 Minutes just to see another non valid TDI cross happened but where price action tells a different story, market condition is bad, news is on/upcoming, and so on.

OR:

A Trader who can show me that this strategy trading on the H4 manually can be successfully managed (including a 3rd party site accountīs linked track record, brokers history statement, investors pw to account or at least some other reliable instance of trust, some other REAL traders can confirm the success.)

Did BigE ever provided something like that or does anyone actually knows this genius? I know about all the quotes "proof what..".

But thats were the problem starts, and i feel sorry to say so but thats where Chenzo at least has a point He is completely right on this, nobody here ever provided any proof of success trading this strategy for 1-2 years at least, right? No matter what time frame or changed the strategy to fit his/her own trading plan, personality. Absolutely nothing, just a lot of bullshit talk and some non-saying charts.

Now let me tell you something quickly because i donīt want to start the same "proof this, proof that" discussion again.

How many of you running a business or ever studied to become WHATEVER this will be? Maybe a doctor, maybe a teacher, maybe a IT specialist, marketing professional, working at Mc Donalds, what ever. Doesnīt matter.

Now did you start thinking about investing the next 10 years in learning something without any proof where you end up? Ok, nothing is for sure, but at least you looked for some other people studied or started a business to see if it might pays off all the hard time investing in right?

So i donīt want to start trading the H4 investing even more time (maybe years..) just to find out all the hard work didnīt pay off, the strategy is not working or at least not working like described / changed and no help how to adapt to the change to make it work again.

Personally time is much more important to me than money. Studying charts hours and hours for some years, well ok if this is the only way. But for sure not just because of some virtual "BigE" i never met in real life wrote on FF (a forum which is full of conflicts of interest) that it works.

Well, you can set no stop loss at all and you rarely ever get stopped out...

Setting it 3-5 pips away from previous high/low. This what i am generally doing for all my M15 trades for some month now. However its still very likely such SL is taken out too here. Maybe this worked in times of BigE was trading it that way.

If you are looking for certainty, I would suggest you take up a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Medicine.

Trading is the very definition of uncertainty. However, I understood that immediately and it did not bother me. I have never not had something to show for my efforts, but at the same time I value knowledge. Knowledge will always convert to income at some point. I definitely agree with you about time, which is why it perplexes me that you would say that you would rather trade on a smaller time frame that requires more monitoring. I don't like to check my charts more than two or three times a day. I also realize that I am not trading as a way out of any situation. I do it because I like it, and it is fun to see people on forums like this one innovate on principles that have been the same since markets existed.

How long does it take a doctor before he is allowed to to practise medically or for that matter a lawyer to represent a client in court. (I think a doctor - 7 years, a spesialis - 12 years, lawyer - 5, 6 year's (not sure)).

I only "got it right" this year after 3 years stumbling around in darkness with only what BigE has posted. I also seeked proof and none could be given. Also seeked guidance and was mislead for many a member posted that this method does not work. I can't give any proof or even the correct guidance, 4 month is not worth any proof or 3 years trading either.
BigE's is the teacher, I am only one of many students and like yourself I still have a lot to learn myself.

Well, thats what i am trying and why i am actually still following this topic. But any time i ask for some real practical advice it gets ignored or said it canīt be done.

How many times i did ask if there is a way to filter out so many false signals you get with M15? So there is no option here instead of switching to H4 or the Daily right? Because i donīt want to set up Alerts even if its just one chart to the M15 and getting called 48 times (in extremes where TDI crossed on M15 every new candle) just to see a 46 times that cross signal is a NO TRADE.

So i wonder how you do this, it requires lots of chart time and probably you only trade because you like it that way. Not sure what the reasons are you doing so but canīt be do make any serious money. With 5 trades a week on average but spending 8 hours/day spotting these high profibility M15/H1 conditions trading 0.10 lot positions you could not even able to cover the costs for my daily rent.

So if you able to make a living that way you probably located somewhere to the 3rd world or trading for fun like said or trying to make a few extra bucks for retirement.

I use H1 green direction to filter M15 false signals and that is what I have been showing you the whole time. Also showed you how to apply it to H1/H4.
