check out the gappy plunge break out of AUSUSD. I don't know if this means it's less likely to hold but I'll take it for now. US stronger than we think, or Aus dramas also an issue??

US having a go but this TL could possibly offer a short. I just closed my short AUSUSD, good profit but there's some strength/ support for AUS now (or US weakness) too much US uncertainty for me to risk it

Sweeping stop losses at .50+, in anticipation of a bad Trump/FED write up later on?

Nothing fundamental to particularly suggest Dollar strength/Yen weakness, at the moment.

Today the USD/JPY pair is showing strong bullish momentum, but currently is capped by the 50-day SMA on H4 around 110.62.

You must mean 50 period SMA on H4, not 50-day SMA.

In anycase if it is capped as you say why wasn't it capped back on 8/14 and on 7/31 and why wasn't it supported back on 7/20?

Price action supports and resists. I'll never understand why people believe in the power of an arbitrary line - whatever the length, whatever the timeframe whatever the type SMA, XMA, WMA etc.

I take your point, but if I were to be equally nit-picky, he said 'currently' capped, inferring that is the state of the situation at present. Not an immovable object.

Yes I saw that line too, and agree with that too, I think it only quotes a certain amount of a post when 'quoting' it!

How are you getting on with UJ at the moment? I've had a frustrating past couple of days, I'm very slightly up - but that was more luck than judgement.

I think this pair is very unpredictable at the moment, with the Trump/trade war stories are bouncing around.

UJ is always tough to figure. Most moves are mean reversion rather than trend type. But I trade the futures JY, not spot forex itself. Although I look at both technically to determine plan.

I prefer the bigs EU and GU in the dollar pairs.
