Last Friday I was at a buddies place and we were talking forex. His Dad (70 something) walked in and after a while he picked up on the word 'forex' and says "And I hope your kids know how to use them".

Hello FF, intrady trading is ruled by algo traders and SM, retail traiders have no chance against them, they are always behind them, algo trades last from seconds to few minutes, no more, dont you beleive that retail traders have more chance of success in long term trading?

maybe that is unfortunately true for many members here,
they take what they can and do not give anything back, not even anything non-financial,
however,
I have already been contacted by ppl / entities who now watch over me.

So for now, it should be ok.

Generally yes,

but obviously, long-term trading is not as profitable since there are fewer trades, longer drawdowns and positions take longer to materialize.

Also, the risk is not necessarily lower for long-term trading.

I am curious what evidence do you have that SM algos are not trading against each other's positions? I mean how did you discover about these algos inner-workings (apart from watching charts for years)? From an algorithmic standpoint, unless there is a "central' entity who designed these algos to exclude tickets from other cartels, I find it hard to avoid conflicts with taking off 'friendly' positions. This is the golden phrase that every guru out here with disagree. Most can only relate long term trading to putting 200 pips-wide stops on a weekly or daily :-)

inhouse...

there is only one cartel...

however, there are some "semi-smart" players who play a similiar game but get hunted by the true SM .....but that does not happen very often...
