I am back from my long vacation in Europe and dreading to keep up with this thread. As anticipated (perhaps it is just me), it is very hard to keep up with this thread and use it for future reference but still a good source to connect the dots.

Here's my trade from London open last night. Thank you Mandlebrot! I wish I knew you existed in 2016 LOL
Thank you PipEasy for sharing the inception method and thanks to this thread, it has helped me validate all my theories about why Price (wicks) should to be ignored!

EDIT: I know it would be hard for most to believe that I don't even look at charts or past historical data on the current timeframe. Such structure can be derived from closing price alone if you know how the currency markets function.

In general, the answer to your question is YES,
HOWEVER,

be aware of one important thing.

When Mandelbrot talks about the "fractality" or "mulit fractality" of financial prices,
this implies that there are various, proven phenomena / characteristics of the prices.

This includes vol. clustering, long-term memory, fat tails, and yes, SCALING / SELF-AFFINITY.

NOW,
as the name suggests, the fractality implies an AFFINITY;
so the markets on higher time frames show SIMILIAR charts as on lower timeframes (see my video showing some exceptions to that),

BUT, of course it is NOT the case that when you have a grail pattern on the day chart, that now there must be smaller grail patterns on the M15....

Fin. markets CANNOT be described well with standard geometry, but with fractal geometry.

But, again, we talk about the "NATURE" of the price behaviour, NOT its precise patterns.

Does that make any sense?

So the diagram above shows WHY fin. markets are fractal in nature, but NOT HOW so to speak....

so a multi-fractal model CAN simulate / model / describe the NATURE of the price behaviour,

but it CANNOT predict what the price does next OR even what pattern should occur next.


HOWEVER, multi-fractal models CAN BE EFFICIENTLY USED for predicting the VOLATILITY of the price (not price itself!).

Is that understandable?

You know what might help get further alignment in conveying your thought process/analysis? An introduction of "Causality Strength/Index Meter" for short/medium/long term longies and shorties...You can then just use this meter as a long/short signal with SL and TP for your live screenshot posts. agree?
This could also help you move towards addressing your "infrastructure challenges" in becoming a commercial signal provider (if and when you decide to go commercial). In current state, there is too much going on in your charts for old and new comers of this thread to decipher.... just my 2 cents.

Sorry, I misunderstood then. are there any tools available in the MT4 space related to mandlebrot's work that I can use to research his work on markets?

Yes pamc,

the ibank industry changed A LOT in the last years.......

most of the manual traders are gone............ALGOS took over almost everything...............

first, we saw how physical pits disappeared................then we saw how people shouting on trading floors disappeared....

and now we see how LESS and LESS HUMANs trade for institutions but MORE and MORE ALGOS are used......

it is getting quieter and quieter on the floors in London, NYC and HK...

this seems to be also true for many other areas of the economy...
